Hello, hello, hello!
« on: 21 Jan 2013, 10:14 »

Good morning/afternoon/evening, ladies and gents. I am incredibly new here and I hope that I will make at least somewhat of a lasting impression upon this site. I love QC so much and I always want people to talk about it with (such as the group of friends I have that I can talk to about Harry Potter or various bands that we like.) Unfortunately, only one of my friends follows QC, and I rarely see him, so joining a forum such as this one will undoubtedly be fun!

I hope you all like me! Oh, and my name is Paige. ^_^

Welcome! You'll enjoy it here, it's an extraordinarily diverse group of people, in geography, occupation, age and interests.

We can be grateful that none of them brag about it.

Celticgeek's post was in Welsh. Mine was in Dwarfish (I had to look it up, I'm not that much of a geek).

Ooh, should have figured with the Welsh, although I'm not too familiar with it. As for the Dwarfish...yeah, never woulda guessed it XP

I've just finished reading Guards! Guards! and that pile of apostrophes is apparently Dwarfish for "Good day! Good day! Good day! What is all of this that is going on here (in this place)?", although there is very little "translation" given in any of the Discworld books. You might notice some rather (contrived references, at times) to Sir Terry here and there around me.

And I'm so out of this that a reference to Sir Terry makes me think of Terry Thomas in some foppish role, 40 years ago.

OK, back to the welcomes...

Hi!  There's a lot to talk about in here beyond QC, so have a look around, and (as always) read all them rules and disclaimers.

Glad you're glad to be here!

Thank you, thank you, Sir Carl-E! I've noticed that so far, hehe! (Rhyming, derp.)

For once, I actually DID read rules and stuff. Normally I just wait until I do something wrong and someone corrects me. But this time, I read them. Shame I can't talk about shipping :/ But I understand why not.

Indeed. If/when we get accredited by the Massachusetts Port Authority, we'll be shipping in and out of these here ports on a daily basis. But until then, we're all drydocked, forced to move things by land instead. Aargh.

Also, welcome. Enjoy the steak.

You can only be lost if at one time you weren't. Don't worry, you're just like the rest of us. *dodges a flying lug wrench*

I'm always know where I am, Blue. Some times, though, I don't know where other things are.
