Wha't's a four-letter word that refers to a woman, ending with the letters UNT?
...
Give up? It's "Aunt!"
Why, what were you thinking?
I was thinking it's rude to call a woman a runt.

The last student is a woman. She takes her gun and goes through, and for a few minutes there isn't a sound and her instructors figure she's failed as well. Then suddenly someone screams and shot after shot rings out, followed by a long series of thumps and crashes. The woman comes out on the other side, finally, spattered in blood and gore.
"What happened?!" Ask her instructors.
"Well, some idiot filled that gun with blanks, so I had to beat my husband to death with the chair."
I don't find misandry any funnier than misogyny. Firefox spellcheck flagging it is also disturbing.

Is it me or does anyone see Claire gradually slipping into the role once occupied by Faye.   Friend, partner, provider of punchlines.

I think you're on to something. It's likely that Claire needs a level-headed good friend, and Marten always needs someone to confront him.

If the wedding's tomorrow, that would fit the family pattern of never planning ahead that Dora commented on.

It is an oddity of the particular and rather...     shall I say PECULIAR input method I have chosen.    That is if you refer to the odd spacings around punctuation.    I am testing a speech to text program developed by a friend of mine.    For some reason when I dump the text into this forum I get odd spacing around punctuations.

I choose to break up my thoughts line by line,   into smaller paragraphs because it just looks right to me.    No other reason.

I highly doubt it's tomorrow, or really anytime soon. The save the dates come around a while in advance, they're basically a placeholder until the invitations are ready to be sent out, and even those are usually at least a couple months before the wedding. So...Marten's probably ok. Plus, his dad probably wants him to play a role in the wedding itself, so they'd probably talk about it on the phone, I doubt his dad would just be "well my son probably knows to show up".

They got engaged...although the next morning the dad said they were heading up to Vermont, which I assumed at the time meant they were just going to get married up there. It could be that they did get married, but are having the wedding after the fact for friends and family? Then again, maybe they were just going there for vacation and the wedding is still in its planning stages. Who knows?

Is anyone else particularly enjoying the stream of comics with Claire, when she was first introduced i was like "Eh, Background character probably", But now i find she's a great character, especially with the storylines,

That said, are all these comic strips happening in QCverse time of like one day? cause there sure has been a lot.

Ah, so ironically the reason IS the digital age, the cutting edge of it.

There was once a run of 70 strips or so that took place on one day, so it's a common thing with QC.

So, presumably Marten goes to the wedding. And I *think* that Marten's father does not know about the fact that Marten and Dora broke up. So he presumably sent an invitation for "Marten +1".

Whom does Marten take with him?

I hope we do get to see the wedding, or at least some of it - since it's been mentioned again I suspect it will be in the story at least to some extent.

I've had post come and totally forgotten to open it because I knew what was in it. My birthday present sat for a full day on my bed until I thanked my stepmum for it and realised I hadn't actually looked at it (I knew what it was though, I'd asked for it). Between the porters' lodge where I collect my post and my room where I open it, it's easy to get distracted!

Would it be unethical for Marten, a de facto supervisor, to ask Claire to accompany him to the wedding? (Hannelore might well get her own invitation.)
Claire's tight windings and her tendency to overreact would be good comedy, methinks. There might even be some lessons about tolerance and acceptance and respect thrown in, too.

I think a trans* person at a gay wedding could teach a few things about tolerance, acceptance and respect.

I don't think being trans* automatically makes you more tolerant and respectful than the average. It is likely to make you acutely aware of a particular facet of intolerance and disrespect, but human beings are notoriously bad at extrapolating their specific experience to the general and treating others accordingly. Claire puts her foot in it quite a lot; being trans* has made her more female, not more sensitive.

Good point - being more sensitive to your own issues may not make one more empathing about other's.  However, I still don't think Claire'd be the one to cause problems / have misunderstandings at the wedding!

OK, maybe if Marten's mom shows up.

While it would increase teh funny, I don't see it as in character.  He's not dating anyone, so I'd see him bringing a good friend, if anyone.  While Claire found him trustworthy, and they're certainly getting to know each other better, I'm thinking one of the three primaries (Faye = BFF, Dora = amicable ex who met the grooms, Hanners = old friend who'd love to see a wedding for cultural anthropological reasons) would be most likely.  Hell, I think Tai'd be more likely than Claire...

I do actually expect Dora will get a separate invite from Dad, which will allow either Hanners or Faye to join him at the wedding.

And, of course, it would be funnier than all get out if Maurice WAS Claire/Clinton's uncle.

It'll turn out Veronica knows Dr. E. (HANNERS: "Don't ask. Please don't ask.") and, the former Reed couple being on good terms and all, wangles an invite and the wedding is ON the station. So Station's not invited; he's catering. It's a big crowd, so ECT-102 is brought into service alongside 101, but it turns out Spaceship doesn't get along with his twin, who doesn't bother with holo-clothes at all.

It could happen.
