I figure it's time we had ourselves a place to hang out and discuss other webcomics around here, since that's a uniting interest of literally everyone on here. So here it is: anything webcomic-related you'd like to talk about, just throw it out there.

So what do you read? I know there are some people on the MAKE subforum that do comics, anyone feel like plugging one they do?

I've been slowly grinding through some of Dave Willis's old stuff. It's Walky is goofy but totally awesome.

Undoubtedly my favourite webcomic ever is Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal.

I've not added the ones I like to favourites, but I clicked 'random' a few times and came up with this one:

The only time it doesn't make me laugh is if it's one of the really conceptual sciencey comics that I don't understand. Any time I GET the jokes, which is maybe 98% of the time, it's hilarious.

I also love the way he tends to pile punchlines on top of punchlines, like when the comic was a guy sat next to a tombstone with the name 'Frank' on it, and he's drinking and saying 'We had some good times though, right Frank?' Then the caption says: 'Me and my buddy Frank love finding tombstones with our name on it then drinking by them and pretending the other one's dead. Or at least, we USED to, until Frank died.'

I've been reading Penny Arcade for the last decade, and it's been going another five more years in front of that, so it's pretty insane.

It's not as much... FUN as it used to be. A lot of their really high-concept stuff like Automata is brilliant, but it just isn't that funny any more, generally speaking.

I'll always read a new one, though.

I also quite liked Super Effective, but it updates so infrequently I don't really like endorsing it.

And lastly, 2002-2004 my brother wrote a webcomic called Stickman Stickman (http://stickman.qntm.org/comics.php?n=0) which I always really liked although I think he feels like it was shitty these days. I disagree. I think it's pretty funny, and when he starts dealing with bigger storylines down the line I think it gets quite awesome.

I would get links but in class right now and writing this quick.

I've a fair few comics but most are ones I'm still catching up on. My current binge is Something Positive, think I've caught up to 2007.

I'm a big fan of Girl With Slingshots. Only been reading it since last year but it quickly became amazing to me.

The Abbadon which is sometimes NSFW but the art and story is surreal feeling.

Oglaf which I used to never laugh at but still read and now it's one of the few comments that properly makes me laugh almost every update.

A couple I read but don't stay as caught up as I should include Surviving The World, Basic Instructions, All New Issues, Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, Awkwad Zombie, xkcd and there's more but I don't have access to my bookmarks.

I think we've had this thread before, but honestly it died a long time ago.

I read way too many webcomics, including Penny Arcade, Girls with Slingshots, QC, Bad Machinery, A Softer World, Johnny Wander, Guilded Age, Octopus Pie, Shortpacked, Homestuck, and Wasted Talent among others. I made a list to try and keep up with them all, the older one had at least 100 of them.

I did a pretty thorough search before I put this one up, cause if I post a thread and it gets locked, my shame will be on the front page for months.

Willis's comics are killing me this week. I also went back and read the Penny Arcade archive, and motherfucker those guys are awesome. I still think Jeph writes one of the best comics on the internet. QC has ruined most other ones for me.

There have been other threads (like this one - so bloody old, most of the people are listed as "Guest"), and I remember posting the screenshot of below my comic bookmarks in another thread...

But I've trimmed that list by quite a bit, because of... well, time, really. And some of them just ... died out. And that computer died.

I still consider Templar, AZ the best online comic I've read, but it's not so much a webcomic as it is a trade comic that gets revealed one page at a time.

The sad thing is, I have a better change of figuring out what day of the week it is if I want to read a comic as opposed to actually figuring out what class I need to pack for.

I also used to spend some time in Drunk Duck, mainly with Simply Sarah (I had a guest appearance in a page a few years ago), Cathy (finished) and a couple of trans* comics - Eve's Apple (which seems to have died) and The Princess, about a young lady-to-be and how her family and friends deal with her (not always well), and how she deals with them (not always well either).

Just seen that Ctrl Alt Del is finished? I mean, Tim is still posting shitty filler comics but his main characters seemed to have ended their arc late last year. I gave up reading because the stories got less and less interesting (the whole miscarriage thing, plus weeks and WEEKS of filler) drove me away. I'm also not 15 anymore. Didn't see that coming.

what's going on here? Nobody has mentioned "Scandinavia and the World" yet? I'm admittedly not a great webcomic reader, apart from QC and xkcd I only read SatW. Though I just discovered The Oatmeal and am liking it so far.

Ahahaha! But despite all the sexual stuff, which might not be to everyone's taste, I do think it's a very good quality comic. The art is beautiful if you don't mind the nudity and the jokes are funny and well written.

LICD, SP and GWS are getting the big-red "Unsafe Website" alerts. Apparently they got marked with a report saying they contained malware. Danielle has posted on her Twitter that it's been fixed, but Google's taking its time removing the "unsafe website" alert.

Try accessing it via a different browser, like Safari or Opera.

Yeah, I saw that. I don't think that's the issue, if I go back a bit or forward a bit the comics load. Maybe just some pages are effected? Although I've noticed the S*P archive has had quite a few errors, like wrong URLs or typos.

The websites for SP and GWS both lost their databases when someone hacked them a couple weeks ago (they were down for a couple days at the time). I'd guess this is probably related to that, and the typos and wrong URLs are probably from when they had to rebuild their databases.

Randy does everything on S*P's site by hand, and has been restoring the archives in a piecemeal fashion ever since the disaster. SuperStupor and Rhymes with Witch (his other two comics on the site) are still a mess. And he's off to ECCC, so it may be a while before everything's fixed right.

One of the comics I read for S*P lately, Randy said his server got attacked, I think, and the only one that wasn't effected was S*P because of the "archaic" way he maintains the site.

Wow so many overlaps with the people here. Besides the obvious I do read all of Gisele Lagace's works, I read Quiltbag till it ended, Els Goonish Shive, Rain-LGBT, Girls With Slingshots, Penny-Arcade, Sunstone (a romance/bdsm work by Shiniez on Deviant Art), Spinnerette, and Supernormal Step. There's a few others I touch from time to time as well but these are my regular reads.

Alright, here goes! I've found literally all of these through advertisements on other Webcomic websites. It's nice to see how connected the webcomic scene is!

QC, that's obvious,
Go Get A Roomie. The author seems to have nailed Jephzibahs method of "Tease the fans until they give up, then tease them even more!"
Menage A 3, which is kinda hard to read because most of the characters motivations are ZOMG MAKEOUTS, HOT. It's nice to shut off the brain though.
Red String, where I mostly just thought "oh my god, lamest love story ever, so predictable", but got hooked anyhow.
Misfile, which takes itself way too seriously, but is really cute and also, surprisingly long-living.
Cyanide and Happiness, because, duh. First webcomic I ever read.
Gamercat, because we don't have enough webcomics about games /s
Then there's the furry comics, which I only read because I wasn't aware that normal webcomics existed.
TwoKinds, which has an interesting story but updates tantalizingly slow.
Las Lindas, which I only read out of spite, because the story started to be batshit stupid, and the only reason I still read is because I like some of the characters.

Right now I currently read:

Questionable Content: Obviously.

Penny Arcade: Though recently I prefer reading the news articles on the front page over the comic itself. Unsure if that is a sign of maturity or me being out of touch with modern gaming.

E-Diots: Just like Penny Arcade, gaming sitcom. I do not know why there are so many gaming comics and so so very few movie ones.

Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal: A good taste of cynicism and humor. A lot of anti-ginger jokes in there too for when I want to hurt myself.

Projects my friends and I work on:

morphe: A horror "visual novel" that I write for. We're trying to get the feel for Higurashi and other such Japanese horror visual novels while having a light and character driven plot. Right now we only have 30 comics done so it'll be a while before it gets to shine.

Evil Plan: A comic about a super villain and the assistant he hires off of the street to build his devices. Written and drawn by a good friend of mine it's been running for about 8 years.

Sire: A comic where fictional characters are reincarnated in to the modern world and people are born as "Lineage Children" where they are forced to play out the stories of their "Sire". If they try to defy the story provided by The Binding then they will suffer. A comic where studying every nuance of Victor Hugo, Charles Dickens and Robert Louis Stevenson may save your life.

And most dear to my heart. I used to read--- but they finished:

Avalon High School: This was my pre-QC crack and a must read for anyone who loves QC. It's about a bunch of Canadian high schoolers who dive too deep in to the dramas of love and suffer the harsh real life effects of their parents love going sour through the years. Massive bonus points for the story about the adult Deirdre falling in love with a high schooler. Very tastefully handled.

RPGWorld: Another oldie but goodie. A direct parody on Final Fantasy style RPGs. A very promising start but it became too much for the creator. He has moved on to better things

The Last Days of Foxhound: A prequel comic to Metal Gear Solid designed to fill in the blanks regarding the mysteries of the series and the backstories on the quirky mini-boss squad. The best thing about this comic is how it was written before MGS3 came out and ended up being more accurate to MGS4's plot than any independant comic really should be.
