OK, found this recently, archive binged, and am in love;

Heart-shaped skull, the main story is that of a young witch, Sertenity Rose, and her inability to deal with life.  A bit angsty, a little dark, with some well done world-building.  There was apparently a long (as in several years) hiatus between books one and two, and the art improved drastically.  The site's a little hard to navigate for archiving, but it's worth it.

Enjoy!

I just have to keep myself from doing so, or I never gat anything done.

Hokay, here's my list of vices:

Questionable Content - Slice-of-Life comic about a semi-humanoid robot, the hapless dude who lives with him, and butts.

Dr. McNinja - He's a doctor, and a ninja. At the same time. What more do you people want?!

Penny Arcade - Put in a penny, play a game. Put in another penny, this comic will tell you why that game is terrible.

/ Ctrl-Alt-Del - A comic that was once about a madman...now it's about vidya games.

XKCD - Math, humorified.

Megatokyo - Two white guys get stuck in Japan. Hilarity ensues.

Whomp - A comic about a comic artist, who draws a comic. Also, McNuggets.

Blaster Nation - Shenanigans.

Go Get a Roomie - Casual-sex shenanigans.

Cyanide & Happiness - Every politically incorrect thought you've ever had, and some you haven't.

Endless Origami - Sometimes funny, sometimes downright weird.

Looking For Group - Imagine you've been transported to a D&D-esque world of magic, dragons, and the occasional troll.

Pulse - Superheroes. And fanservice. LOTS of fanservice.

Oglaf (NSFW) - Every politically incorrect porn-related thought you've ever had, and some you haven't.

- Comic has Continuity
- Comic has some elements of continuity, some one-shot strips.
- All or most of comic is one-shot strips.

I may have inadvertently left some out...I'll think of them eventually, if I think of them. :psyduck:

And for those of you who were dumb enough to click the QC link, you deserve what you got.

I can understand Ethan's POV but he should just remain single and just figure his own way.  And it seems like he has the hots for his roomie.  This drama plane will crash and burn horribly.  I am curious on what Joyce's friend will say when she can reach her.

It is both annoying and adorable how religious she is.  :psyduck:

I've been reading Shortpacked for years but I never made the transition to Dumbing of Age. Is it a retread of earlier stories or is it a new thing with old characters?

It's funny no one mentioned Station V3. Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one who actually reads it.
Also, Ménage ŕ 3 is awesome, it's often slightly NSFW though.
My all-time fav is Able and Baker. It's mostly dead, but there's hope that it might resurrect at some point. Anyway, there are enough comics to keep anyone busy for a short while.

The two first ones have continuous storylines. All three are totally different.

(click to show/hide)

That's a good collection, Gunnerkrigg, Schlock and xkcd are among my favorites, along with Sluggy Freelance, Goblins and Between Failures.

Notable mentions; Octopus Pie, Manly Guys doing Manly Things and Girls with Slingshots.

I read through the archives General Production Fault a couple of years ago, simply because I read that it had the same kind of plot evolution as Sluggy Freelance ("Cerberus Syndrome"), but I've got to say, he didn't pull it off (even closely) as well as Pete Abrams, the author of SF, did. The melodramatic plots and character arcs of GPD did not mash well with the highly comedic art-style and geeky humor. In my opinion, anyways.

On a side note, do most folks here read your webcomics daily? I usually read them in batches, waiting until there's at least a dozen or two of updates. Can't really immerse myself in one strip at the time, especially since all the comics I read, except xkcd and C&H, have storylines, and make little sense out of context.

Ah yes, Manly Guys. I started reading that again recently, and decided that it might be good to have a sig-quote that was from somewhere other than the Discworld.

I read comics daily because I hate hitting the end of an archive binge. I'll periodically go back and read the whole thing from start to finish, which reminds me that I haven't read Girl Genius over recently. #nosociallife

I remember when I read Sluggy Freelance 2-3 years ago, in a few weeks. That's 13-14 years worth of comics. It was at the "4UCity"-arc, one of the biggest and most dramatic so far, that I hit the end..

..it sucked.

Anyways, this is why I love Schlock Mercenery:

is it weird that I love that Joyce is cringing in today's comic?

source

she used to be (and still is) indoctrinated by her parents but her cringing just makes her kind of realize that maybe her parents didnt have it all right/figured out.  Especially a few strips back where her mom was excited that she had a black friend.

Keep this in mind:

Quote from: DoA FAQ
6) This is important: Joyce is autobiographical.

Dave Willis was as indoctrinated as Joyce is, and I feel like that is why he makes religion less and less important for her.

Soo, I just finished reading Shortpacked!. I read through the whole thing within 2 days.

My mind.

It is broken.

Also I need to read "Roomies!", "It's Walkie" and "Joyce and Walkie" and then read Shortpacked! again to see which references I missed. I feel like I picked up quite a bit from the comments on Shortpacked! and Dumbing of Age.

And what the hell am I supposed to do now…

I think he is some of the time but yes other times he doesnt seem to be trying but its just working out that way.  That last strip when he pulls up to her place was awesome. Left me grinning like an idiot. Can't tell if her brain is not compute or afraid to let him find out about her "dancing" or just overall shy.  :-D

edit: cant tell if its her heart (probably) or her throat that hurts in the last panel!

In other news: I spent way too much time with David Willis' comics.

I've got impatient and didn't want to wait for BringBackRoomies, so I read through all of "Roomies!". And "It's Walky!". Now I'm reading "Joyce and Walky!".

My mind is completely boggled right now.

Used to read a lot of Penny Arcade, but just... fell away. Some good stuff there, but eh?

Schlock Mercenary is something I've followed for a decade or so. I'm having trouble these days remembering large chunks of it, which is a poor sign. I don't think it'll last much longer on my list.

Dominic Deegan, Oracle for Hire is something I followed. It's usually not God Tier material by any means, but I usually liked it. It recently ended too, which is something I'm fond of seeing in comics:*endings*

For that matter, Kid Radd was a project that ate up quite a bit of my time, and made me feel some definite existential feels back in high school.

More later maybe.

I'm sure this one'll have consequences. Her being so afraid of the rage she inherited from her father can't be good. I also worry that it might have an effect on Amazi-Girl, and thus on Danny.

Holy carp, there's so much speculation on the first panel in today's DoA…

It probably is the robbery she told Danny about, being a traumatic experience which led to the creation of Amazi-Girl. Now many people suspect that Sal was involved in that robbery, as it was said she was sent to catholic school for holding up two convenience stores and the time she was sent there correlates with Amber's explanation of the robbery. Note the curly hair in panel one today, that might be Sal. Also note Ambers reaction to Sal in this comic.

Damn, if that's true, then Willis really made a two year foreshadowing.

The current romance bit in girlswithslingshots... oh my.  At first I thought Josh was just a punching bag, but the story is suddenly very very sweet.

It's adorable especially how Clarice is all awkward, especially every time he drops her off at home... :-D
