I suspect he is testing her. How well she deals with stress, authority figures or w/e
He is an asshole regardless.

Aye, it is probably a test, or the Court deciding that she should know that she can't just get away with all the crap she has been pulling.  They probably don't want someone, no matter how talented who will just do whatever she wants, instead of following their rules, especially if she's nominally(?) working "for the other side".  Edit:  On second thought, the whole idea of a loyalty test would make a lot of sense here.

I've been reading Guilded Age recently and have been binging on it when I should be doing other things, like sleeping. If anyone starts and gets to Chapter 9, read on through it. The story shift that pushed away quite a few readers (if the comments are to be believed) makes a lot more sense if you read it it all as one passage, rather than page-by-page.

The meta-story behind the comic just makes my head hurt. Don't get me long I love the comic. But I'm just not sure if the 'game' universe is supposed to be a real, alternate dimension. That seems to be the case... But if so, how do the ancillary characters that are run by players in the other world work? If they are living beings controlled by other world players do they continue to exist and function when the players are logged off? Wouldn't that cause problems with people logging on and off while 'their characters' area already doing something? Or do they disappear/go into a fugue state while the players are logged out? You would think someone would notice thousands or millions of people are only 'active' a few hours a day, and can't do anything at other times.

I suppose it could be explained that the 'player characters' use advanced algorithms to go about their lives while the players are logged out, to 'promote realism'. It just seems odd and inadequately explained to me. Which is probably a sign that I'm trying to over think it.

I am also irrationally disappointed by Antimony's lack of spine.
I say irrationally because I roughly understand what it must be like for her.
But at the same time, I just want to shake her and shout "Goddammit, all you have in common is blood ties! This guy doesn't count as your father!"

The author of Manly Guys Doing Manly Things got engaged and so plugged her fiance's comic Glam Rock Gorilla. I checked it out, and although the website is slow and unreliable, the comic is pretty good!

Can I preen because I can identify an image used in Wondermark?

Compare http://wondermark.com/c1127/ and http://www.victorianweb.org/periodicals/punch/49.html

It was  originally a cartoon in Punch in 1850-something; very daring for the time because it depicted two prostitutes.
What the heck, I'll preen.

If you like sex, rock'n'roll and gorgeous art, I recommend The Rock Cocks. Super NSFW.

It only updates once a week-ish so I binge it once in a while and it's only about 80 pages so far so won't take a long time to catch up.

The Rock Cocks is seriously HOT. I loved Brad and Leslie's work on Slipshine, but Rock Cocks beats even that one. Never really liked Blaster Nation though, but Leslie's artwork has improved so much (and I love how she draws dicks!).

I know that Power Nap was briefly mentioned much earlier in this thread, but I wanted to point out that the creators seem to have finally overcome whatever issues they were having.  For awhile, updates were sporadic at best (sometimes months between pages) but various issues seem to have been sorted, and the comic's updating weekly now.  This seems like a good time for folks to jump in and get caught up on it, because it really is an interesting, confusing, and very WEIRD comic...

um... pay no attention to the fact that the main character is a... koala... right now.  It makes sense in context, I swear.  Maybe.

The Rock Cocks, on the other hand, is the kind of hilarious sexiness I enjoy.

I dunno, most of the animals seem pretty normal and I imagine their basic metabolic processes don't involve magic, so unless you're a magical creature you won't die. In practice, you could do your job as a non-magical doctor but it'd be akin to being a modern human doctor who cannot use anything powered by electricity. No reason to think that's a bad doctor, but would you want to be treated by them?

Wow. It took Roy to catch up but once he started snowballing. Still short of the whole 'it's not Durkon in control of his body' though. You'd think he would have figured that Durkon himself would never do these things. They are pretty much best friends after all.
