And tea is tea, no matter where you drink it. :P
Not so. There are many different teas, and you should match your brewing method to the tea. For example, you will ruin green teas if you brew them at the high temperature needed to extract the flavour from Oolong. More elaborate methods are also appropriate when you make tea for guests, simpler when you just want a nice cup for yourself.

Am I a worthless hipster shitcock for liking Teavana?
I would be the last person to criticise you. If you think you take tea seriously watch this guy's videos (I couldn't find better English-language ones):

Well yeah, because I have stuff from teavana, I know the brewing requirements for white, green, oolong and black, as well as rooibos and yerba mate...I was implying that "high tea" was an almost identical practice anywhere in the British Commonwealth, be it England or New Zealand. ^^;;

I like my tea heater. It dispenses hot water at 175, 195 or 208 Fahrenheit, depending on what tea I'm brewing. It also has a de-ionizer. Now if I could only find the power cord...

Hardware store? homedepotlowesmenards? They're not usually hard to find unless it's a real odd one.

It's proprietary...I'll probably have to contact Zojirushi for another one.  :'(

You're right about proprietary, if this Amazon listing is an indication. Not nice of them! I'm a little compulsive about replacing a missing power cord, even if I haven't used the appliance for years. Dumb.

There's this really handy "other thing" I'm going to write as a footnote to my abstract that I can probably explore these issues in. I think I'll call it my "dissertation."

You, sir, are a life-saver.

A cherry-flavored one.

Seriously, thanks ^.^

One of my favorite flavors. And, acting on my compulsion, it took about five minutes, though with no certainty it would fit your particular model.
But in the U.S., there aren't that many power cords in use, and most are available in hardware/Radio Shack stores.
If that Japanese company uses its own style, it may have standardized the cord across its entire line of appliances.

The Tea Drawer in the kitchen...

the tins on the left and at the back are loose tea, as is the YokoTea on the right.  Not pictured is the go-to Lipton on the counter.

All the way in the back in the center is a tin of Russian tea my father brought back from Kiev in 1977.  The pricetag is still on it (.76 rubles), and I've never opened the foil packest inside the elaborate tin.  Everything else gets drunk (drank?).

I like tea.  I can't drink coffee, which makes me sad.  So I compensate...
