I'll make sure the mission succeeds!

Since this looks like it will be disapproved, doesn't mission 4 move on to the next leader?  Or am I misunderstanding the rules?
You are correct. If the majority disapproves, it will move on to TRVA123.

I've got messages from about half of you so far. I'm not pushing for anyone to make up their mind this instant since there at least seems to be some sort of discussion happening (and I enjoy watching you guys squirm  :-D). But if you haven't submitted anything to me and have already made up your mind, I wouldn't mind getting your vote sooner rather than later.

Are we still playing? should I just put together a team (I'm assuming this mission is not going to be approved) Are we still waiting for approve/disapprove votes for the mission?

I think it's ok to at least talk about the team you want... while it's not official yet, I think the last team is going to be disapproved, and it could help move the game along.

Absolutely, if the game is at a lull, I would recommend continuing discussion in any way you see fit.

In any case... you ALL disapproved.

TRVA123, take it away. It is team building phase 4.2.

Good morning Angels, We have a very important mission coming up.

Since this mission is a bit of a milk run I would like to send out some of our rookies: The Evil Dog, Black Sword, Dr. Nervioso, Henri Bemis, and Unicorn

(I am aware that Unicorn and Henri Bemis are not rookies, but I found them to be the least suspicious.)

*pulls out an umbrella*

I approve of this lineup.  Getting some new people in the mix is a good idea.  I'm certain about myself, obviously, and I still think Unicorn is on our side, too.  I also suspect that at least two of the spies have already been sent out, so even if one of the other three is a spy, the mission will succeed.  (of course, a spy would know that and probably not sabotage if he or she was the only one, but that's still a success for us).

Plus, it's about goddamn time Black Sword got his hands dirty.  The revolution is for the good of our country, not so you can make a killing on the Snack Exchange, or from peddling pirated powdered sweets to the desperately dulce-less.

Well Alucard is a jerk, so I'm tempted to Disapprove.

Then again everyone's a jerk in that manga, so I suppose that's of little consequence.

Hm.

Prince Toffee will be going to the family vacation home with his new wife, Lady HoneyBunz. If we kill them now, we will have severed Sugarcane's bloodline. Sugarcane was foolish to put all his Cadbury eggs in one basket when he decided not to remarry after the queen fell ill and died.

----

The five entered the building. No guards. No alarms. No nothing. It had to have been another trap. At least they thought so until they barged into the master bedroom and found the prince and princess stuck to one another like two oreo crackers. The two were shocked, but quickly recovered before any of the Drillers could react. Honeybunz reached under the marshmallow pillows and drew her.... honeybun shuriken and threw them across the room with such grace and deadly accuracy, it was clear why the prince felt he needed no body guards. This woman was all the protection he needed.

The drillers hit the floor, escaping injury. Unicorn took a shot at HoneyBunz, but the gun malfunctioned. Gasp! More sabotage. The others attempted to do the same, only with similar results. This was it... this was their end.

Honeybunz leaped, not caring about her naked lithe form. She drew a decorative hard candied axe from the wall and approached her victims. And then proceeded to get shot through the stomach four times.

"Hey there boys and girls," said the leader. He stood behind Honeybunz's fallen form. A nearby shattered window served as evidence of his last-minute intrusion. "Thought with all the sabotage, I'd try to help you out myself. Now why don't we deal with our little pr--"

The din of another shot filled the air, this time from TheEvilDog. He had a spare gun and used it to pop a chocolate chip in the leader's head! Black Sword, Unicorn, and Nervioso quickly stood to try to detain him, but were put out of their misery by henri bemis.

"You're safe now, my prince," TheEvilDog muttered, prodding each body with his foot to ensure they were dead.

Toffee breathed a sigh of relief.

Static filled the air. Henri pulled out her walkie talkie. "Talk to me, TRVA."

"I got word that the leader wasn't watching anymore so I disposed of the others," said the voice of TRVA123. "Is it safe to assume you took care of things on your end?"

"Yep. Operation Save Candyland is complete."

SPIES WIN!

Once I got confirmation that the team got majority approval and the spies were going to sabotage, I went ahead and wrote this up. Sorry if this somehow offends those of you who didn't submit a response yet... but it wouldn't have made a difference.

Thanks so much to everyone for getting involved in this experimental forum adaptation of The Resistence. I hope you enjoyed it! To be honest, I'm having a hard time gauging how much fun it was for you all, so definitely let me know. If there's interest in it, I may do a second game soon that includes some additional perks that can help either side and try to make use of any feedback in the sign up topic to improve the flow of the game itself. If there isn't, I'll gladly pass on the torch to Linds if she's ready or whoever is next in line, as I have no traditional mafia plans in my head (yet) and don't want to hold up the queue as I try to plan one out!

I did really have fun with this game, and loved the write-ups you did for missions.  I'd definitely sign up for a second game  :-D.  I think it would improve if there was more discussion, but that's not really something you control.  I think you did a great job.

Damn you, henri! If this had been regular Mafia with noose, your ongoing survival would have been the clue I needed to know you were dirty!

I'm not surprised by TRVA123 being dirty, but I'm irked that the TheEvilDog was dirty. You guys could have at least offered me the chance to switch sides!

yeah, this. I have no idea how you're actually supposed to figure out who's suspicious or not.

I mean, like, I looked like the most suspicious person.

And yet people trusted you on ALL the missions.  :? They were correct in doing so, but I was rather curious as to why.

I can post my thoughts on finding spies now that the game is over. That will have to be later tonight though. Also if there was any rule/gameplay confusion do let me know so I can make sure I'm clearer in the rules next time. I could have done better in that department and want to fix it.

I'll also add in what sort of differences my next potential game will have from this one. If you're the type that likes playing mafia for the abilities you may or may not get, this may be something that will interest you.

Thanks for the feedback thus far!

I had fun but I've been a lot more busy with other stuff and so didn't participate nearly as actively as the last game, I admit.

Here I'd thought I'd gotten Gareth and TRVA pegged as spies. >_<

Also I laughed since I felt I was the most suspicious ever.
