Batman is so...interesting.

Partially because he's soooo broken and wrong as a person, but the universe keeps rewarding him for it. Sort of. And I mean, hey, there's a lot worse ways he could be broken.

Where would you place his riding the Roomba on the scale of awesomeness?

Those and the catnipped Mieville comic are all 11s on the 1-10 scale in my book! As a matter of fact, I attempted to draw a graph of Mieville's awesomeness thoughout the comic, and it ended up just being a horizontal line...  :-D

Not really; people who are active on the forum might choose to avoid having an avatar that could be too readily confused with someone else's, is all.

I tend to identify people by their signature quotes, to be honest (which is harder when people don't have one). Actually, if you don't have a sig or an avatar, I will have difficulty remembering who you are unless you have a distinctive writing style, because I am awful with names. I genuinely have been known to forget my boyfriend's name before.

Confession: When I first saw the name, I thought "mad cow." That wasn't what she'd had in mind, she later said.

I just realized, I always read it as two words, "Barmy Moo", is it three? Bar my moo...milk bar...A Clockwork Orange? Or maybe bar as in ban...are you lactose intolerant?

...and I claim my five pounds. :-D

Nearest the heart?  Or just a little off the top...?

It's a bit of an Internet Meme, so I assumed Lobby Lud, and the ""You are X and I claim my five pounds" phrase was fairly commonly understood.

You're overthinking again.

Congratulations.

Reminds me of some D&D-themed comic where there is a warning on the wall saying "Don't overthink". The characters start pondering what the actual trap may be, overthinking in the process and eventually die from hunger and thirst.

Funny thing is, the first time I played an RPG, the GM put our party in a room with a small altar-ish stone and the same words on the far wall. We needed to proceed to the next room. Of course, we tried doing all kinds of things with the altar, until we eventually realized that we could actually...

It is intended to be barmy moo, but not because I consider myself to be a mad cow - a friend told me I was in a barmy mood one day, and I misheard.

I didn't realize this wasn't a proper noun. I have never heard this word. UD says it means silly.

Actually, no.  Barm=>barmy (froth on fermenting malt liquor=>frothy, slang: daft, crazy) and balm=>balmy (fragrant oil=>soothing, pleasant) are different words; however, the second spelling is now also a recognised variant for the first (both noun and adjective), which arose through confusion.

If you whittled away enough of me, in the right places, you might get something like Bowie. More likely, though, you'd get a screaming, bloody skull.
