Forum rearrangement
« on: 27 Apr 2013, 02:20 »

I have created a new forum - RELATE - for posts about relationships, sex, depression, and suchlike; I'm sure you'll get the idea soon enough.  I am moving appropriate threads from here, but may be interrupted before I finish, so please be patient.  I will not leave links here, because that would clutter this forum up too much; you know where to look if you can't find what you're looking for here.

At the same time I've also made the sub-specific boards children of this one; this just seemed to me logical, it enables links to the whole forum to remain visible on one screen, and has no other side-effect that I'm aware of.

PS - I see the "new posts" icon is different for this sub-forum as a result of the rearrangement.  I'll deal with that later this weekend.

Is it allowed to post in this thread, or did pwhodges just forget to lock it?

If it's allowed, I would like to emphasize the proposition in the "Random thoughts" thread, originally by Pilchard123: Making "Chatter" a category, replacing the current "Other Stuff" category, containing "Band", "Make", "Enjoy", "Click" and a new general Forum (maybe "Stuff"), which contains the threads of the current "Chatter" forum. The "Relate" is moved to another Category (maybe "Srs Bsns") together with "Discuss" and the Category is made "Member only".

OK, I've changed back to a linear arrangement of the boards.  I've changed their order and put the serious ones under a different heading.  Note that both Discuss and Relate are not visible to guest visitors, or indeed to anyone who hasn't logged in (Discuss was already like this).

I definitely like this arrangement better than the other one with all the subforums being under one thing

Yeah, this forum isn't big enough to call for subforums to the level where the view gets compressed like that.

I'm going to be awkward and say that I didn't mind either way. If I had to make a choice though, this is probably my preference.
