The KIF is a half-yearly conference of the student body representations of the CS students. It also, quite intentionally, sounds a bit like the verb for smoking weed. There are others for other fields of study, like
* KoMa (conference of the math students),
* ZaPF (congregation of all physics students),
* SETh (Student council for Evangelical Theology),
* PIT (the city planners) and
* TaCoS (conference of the Computer Linguistics Students).

The combination of KIF and KoMa is particularly interesting. When this friend of mine is asked, what he's doing then, he answers "KIF/KoMa", which sounds like "Kiffkoma" which could be interpreted as "weed induced coma".

sidenote: The 30C3 is the "30th Chaos Communication Congress". It's a huge hacker convention, organised by the German CCC (Chaos Computer Club), with lots of interesting talks, which will take place between Christmas and New Year's Eve.

He's 6'6 "according to [his] driver's license." So he'd pretty much agree with Unicorn... we're all fuckin' short. Silly giants.

It on H street over where the verizon center/china town metro entrence is. Its call Tony Cheng. Its 2 blocks from my work. The downstairs area is mngolian BBQ, upstairs is chinese food. Its a bit pricey ($20 per person) for the Mongolian BBQ but it is awesome!
