I thought sex offenders live in ice cream trucks?

Vans handing out free candy actually.
Unless it's a free ice cream truck with 12 surveillance cameras and hands out papers from local progressive groups.

Actually, I prefer DB (German railways) to SNCF (French railways). A bit less late and at least, they let you know an estimate of the delay.
There. Now I can say I jumped on the bandwagon...

I can imagine why one would need earplugs during sex, if one's companion is loud. Having somebody screaming in your ear can be distracting. Especially if she is a Canadian well-endowed amazon who cannot get an orgasm.

Aren't Hansel and Gretel siblings? :psyduck:

Yes.

I just read Fox Sister for the first time as well. Does anyone know the name of the "throw three magical things behind you to create obstacles for your pursuer" trope? I am pretty sure there is at least one Russian fairytale where a girl runs away from a witch by throwing a comb, a towel and something else behind her. The comb becomes a wood thicket and the towel becomes a river.

I think of Dora and Sven as Brother and Sister.

Warning - while you were typing someone made a pun about trains and gave an oddly specific example of sex. You may wish to curl up in a corner and cry for humanity.

You deserve a flogging for that.

Actually, that pun, and the one about brining (I've never been so pleased about an accidental typo in my life) are the best puns I've seen around here for some time. They both deserve a bloody medal.  8-)

Today's comic: musician's earplugs exist for a reason.

Heh! A QC/MA3 crossover would be pretty cool! Still, I doubt Marten would be able to get into bed with DiDi. She'd end up with Steve. Or Tai, perhaps.

In the midwest, the difference between the stated and actual departure/arrival time for an Amtrak train can be expressed in hours. As with all non-dedicated lines, freight has priority and the stations aren't always in the best part of town.

Interesting how different things can be. Here passenger trains always have priority, which means that a freight train can take several days to get e.g. from Denmark to Italy. On some stretches they only move at night.

Option 2:  Red Riding Hood. (4 votes)
Option 3:  The biggest billygoat. (12 votes)
Option 4:  Goldilocks. And the three baristas? (2 votes)
Option 5:  Gretel. With Angus as Hansel, of course. (2 votes)
Option 6:  Fox Sister. (1 votes)
Option 7:  Ye Xian. (1 votes)
Option 8:  The Waffle Fairy. (8 votes)
Option 9:  Something else. (7 votes)

New poll. Archive nerds should easily find the comics referenced, except of course for my attempt to tap into wider popular culture...

Is Hannelore's reaction in the final panel the drummer's equivalent of "Lalalalalalalalala! I can't hear you!"?

I'm going to take this opportunity to shamelessly plug Time:

I can imagine why one would need earplugs during sex, if one's companion is loud. Having somebody screaming in your ear can be distracting. Especially if she is a Canadian well-endowed amazon who cannot get an orgasm.
Unfortunately for the amazon, she has a psychopathic roommate that led me to drop the story when she ruined the family of a kid for trolling. That crossed the line from Comedic Sociopathy to Dude Not Funny, and I couldn't read it anymore, regardless of of the justifications.
*scrolls down*
I swear I got it before the source was mentioned!

When reading MA3, you basically have to throw out your concept of morality out of the window, otherwise you'd get constantly distracted by everyone cheating on everyone, nonconsensual sex acts, etc.

I'd even go as far as argue that breaking up the boy's family was technically one of the less evil acts she did.

I like earplugs. I have multiple pairs of them. I don't like loud music, so whenever I go to a club or something like this I put them in. Also I often work at the PA-system of our school at school events, which can get very loud as well.

It shows all the frames so far. There are over 1500 and it's been continually updating on the hour for TWO MONTHS.

I don't really find this statistic interesting at all. It's an animation, not a comic. 1300 frames is nothing, and given the simplistic nature of the animation could have been done in a week or two.

Are you suggesting that porn sex and real sex sound the same in Japan?

I head "porn sex" as "pony sex" for some reason.

Anyway, as a matter of fact, I am suggesting that they sometimes sound the same in Japan; I have never been there, or had sex with a Japanese girl, but I have read blog posts suggesting that the woman is typically the "receiver" and the man is expected to take care of everything and in some cases doesn't even know what to do with a woman who wants to top. The sounds, such is the claim, result from social expectations.

I swear I have tried to find evidence for my claim for at least 45 minutes. This included watching a 13:58 minutes long documentation on Japanese sex culture by the BBC; unfortunately, that was unhelpful.

My only fruit of my research so far was this gem from a forum discussion on a similar matter:

Quote from:  Bryan Ekers
Quote from: tremorviolet
The uke (or reciever) is often drawn as shy and somewhat effeminite and frequently bursts into tears during sex.
If he plays a musical instrument during sex, is it a uke-lay-lay?

Can I invoke the pun-jar cross-forums and 6 years in the past? Because I totally want to do that.

No it isn't. The guy behind that site made it into an animation for convenience sake (since Randall only shows the latest one), but it is a comic that updates every hour.

I think the point Latias was trying to make is that 1300 frames of Time is a very different achievement from independent 1300 xkcd comics.

And does anyone know how long it's meant to be?

I don't know either, but it's already been going long enough for the forum thread on this comic to have evolved its very own dialect of English and somewhat strange sub-culture.

I am aware of what Time is. It's only being displayed one frame at a time, very slowly, but it is still an animation. What else would you classify it as? 1300 frames meant to be viewed sequentially that are all depicting the same scene as it moves along bit by bit... that's exactly what an animation is.
