A mumble chat brought this up.

There's a good chance your phone takes photos with GPS coordinates attached, unless you choose to turn it off. A lot of digital cameras have this feature too.

Its easy too see on most android phones - hit the menu and chose "show on map". but its a bit harder to see on a desktop. the easiest way iv'e found to see is via this website: http://regex.info/exif.cgi

it's cool when you know that your camera is doing it.

not so cool for all the teenaged girls who are unknowingly posting the location of their bedrooms to tumblr because their phones have it enabled by default.
