This fat ass is gonna get a cutie mark type tattoo one of these days. Just need to decide exactly what I want. I can't get a heart because my mom has one on her butt. Maybe a Hello Kitty bow? Hmm.

I have a cutie mark tattoo! It's on my thigh!

Bah, cutie marks are on the butt! :P

And I never spell the word for semen as anything but come because the other way is just supposed to be a differentiation and it's spelled wrong and it bothers me.

How is it wrong? I thought it was a completely separate word, if anything I get confused when people spell it "come" because that word means to arrive or to go somewhere. I do agree that cutie marks are on the butt though. Is it a gun, GM?

Tattoo related: Has anyone got a tattoo on their arm near their wrist, but a little bit up? (So to still be coverable by a long sleeve shirt) If so, which arm should I get it on? I wear my watch on my left wrist so should it be on my right?

I have something on the inside of my forearm but it's more near the bend of my elbow than my wrist. I've got it on my left but that was because I had something planned for my right side and I wanted to stay... Balanced? It made sense at the time. Just get it on the side you want, you can move your watch. I've always worn watches or bracelets on my right wrist but I also usually wear a bracelet on my left too.

If you mean the watch might be rubbing on it, then yeah, probably should get it on your right.

Well no, my watch has always been on my left wrist and it'd feel weird to have it on my right. I guess it makes more sense to have the tattoo on my right. Just curious, does having a tattoo there make typing difficult?

Also it wouldn't be on my wrist, it'd be a little ways up, so maybe it could work on my left. I don't know. Maybe I should get both sides of the coin, one on each?

No, it doesn't get in the way of typing but I think mine is higher than you're planning. As long as it's not on the bend I don't think it should interfere at all really, not once it's done healing anyway.

I saw you said it would be up a bit from the wrist but some people like to wear loose watches that ride up the arm so I thought that might be your concern. You could draw it on roughly on each arm just see if you prefer one. Even on paper with fresh ink so you could press it down on the skin. It doesn't need to be perfect, just to give an idea.

Cum is a Latin word, and come has just been used as slang for ejaculation. Shortening it to cum just seems like a text speak sort of thing, like saying ur instead of your.

Anyway, a tattoo is never going to get in the way of you physically doing anything. It may be a little uncomfortable for the first couple days, but after that you're fine.

I definitely agree with drawing it on each arm and seeing what you like.

Cum is Latin for "with", just like "con" is Spanish for "with, but it's also English (a prefix meaning negative, or a word short for confidence trick/person). My point regarding come/cum is that for years I only saw "cum" as the word, and then I saw people using "come" and it seemed odd, because like I said, "come" already had a meaning in English. Why would "come" mean ejaculation?

So when some cis guy says he's coming, he's coming out of his own penis, for instance?

And, uhm, it's not really penis-users-exclusive, either, is it? Just as a word for orgasm? Like, 'arriving' at it?

Right, that doesn't work. That's why it never bothered me as "cum" (separate word), but "come" is just strange.

I dunno, I guess it's because I saw it for years as "cum" I'd always assumed it was a completely separate word, rather than a misspelling.

I've seen both spellings used in that sense; I assume that cum originated as a clever-dick mis-spelling.

Bah, cutie marks are on the butt! :P

Actually they're on the flank, which is more analogous to a human's thigh then one's fourth point of contact.

and finally a reasonably not suck photo of my tattoo:

I wrote it... so I have no idea dude >.>;

It was supposed to be two lines originally with the top line reading "For the world is hollow and I have touched the sky" which is a stealth star trek reference as well as being how I feel, and the bottom would be the current bracketing text.

In other news my calf is in the "itching like a motherfucker" phase of healing. >.>;

So I've been looking at artists and my top two are Jin-O at Kaleidoscope and Angus at LifeDeathFaith.

Leaning heavily towards Jin-O. She's amazing and I've seen the thigh pieces she did on my partner and STG and they're both some of the most beautiful work I've ever seen.

What does it do? I've never heard of that before - is it just a plug on the inside of your nose? This is probably a rather stupid question but please forgive my ignorance and inexperience: what is the point? It's almost invisible; does it feel different to have it there?

Added: I figured I should go and part-answer my own question using The Googles; I did not realise you could stretch your septum! Is that what you're going to do? That is cool in a kind of fascinating but I'd-never-do-that sort of way (I am a bit of a wuss about things like that, I feel like it'd hurt a lot).

I had it pierced at a 10g* about 9 years ago, maybe 10. I have since stretched it to 6g, which is where it's been for most of the time I've had the piercing. When I worked at Hot Topic, I could wear a ring in it, but since I now work in an office setting, I have to keep the piercing hidden during the week. I used to have a staple-shaped retainer that sat up in my nostrils (here it is flipped down http://www.bodyartforms.com/gallery/uploads/CameraZOOM-20120423083033209.jpg), but it got irritating when I had any snot in my nose at all, and especially if I got sick. And then I found the septum plug. It's similar to a plug you'd wear in a stretched ear piercing, but the flares are much smaller, as septum piercings are often not as stretchy as earlobes.

It is so damn comfortable. I love it. And no one can see it if they're looking up my nose... which was actually a problem once. In bed. With a guy.

That makes sense! Does it feel different to a ring?

I often forget it's even there. With a ring, you have a little bit of weight, and in mine the bead is loose enough to make a faint clink noise if it moves. The real difference is between the staple retainer and the plug. I can rub, blow, pick, bump my nose... anything, and it's not a problem. I don't have to worry about it falling out.

I considered stretching up to 4g, but the larger you go, the harder it is to find a small diameter ring in your size. And I don't want anything that hangs too low in my nose.

I think nipple piercings are bleh in general, but I'm a tattoo guy not a piercing and tattoo guy. Oddly enough for all my love of ink, needles make me nervous. Tattoo needles don't count cause they aren't going THROUGH me.

That said I say try it, worst case ya hate it and take out the piercings and let'em heal up right?

I do have an opinion question for all of you though.

Should I go ahead and get the ankle cuff that was part of the piece when I designed it? It would be a series of runes about 5 lines deep at the base of the current piece and wrapping around front to the shin.

I had a septum piercing but couldn't sleep in it so it didn't last.

Jimmy, are you sure your nipples are big enough to be pierced? My ex's were not. But as long as they are, I think guys look awesome with nipple piercings. I wish my ex had been able to get them. I also intend to get mine pierced in the near future.

MoM, what was the problem with sleeping with your septum jewelry in?

I never thought of that. I'll ask a girl I know with nipple piercings what she thinks.
