True, but wouldn't that be where you get drunk as a result of discussing someone else's beer?

No, it's when you get drunk, fall, and someone laughs at your expense.

In tkat case it should probably be spelled Schadenbräu. But anyway, it doesn't make too much sense. I just assumed he was referencing Schadenfreude

Reminds me of cartoonist Bob Stevens' "gefractured German fur fliegers," comic-opera German mixed with aviation terms for NATO aircrews, designed to appeal to monolingual (no, I have no room to be self-righteous about this) Americans stationed overseas. Runway is "offroarenbahnstrasse," Radio antenna is "sparkenschpitzenschtick," Student pilot is "der dummkopf lernen fleigen," propeller is "airfloggenfan" etc.

I just noticed something cool. In this comic Faye throws Pintsize against the wall. In this one he still suffers from it, and ends his sentence on the word "cump.", which Faye has then printed on a shirt in this one.

OK, here's something I just noticed - this is just the QC Discussion Forum, and Pony Leaks has gone bye-bye. When did this happen?

(and the only reason I noticed is because Windoze 8 crashed on my over the weekend, and I had not saved my bookmarks, so I had to reload everything and noticed this was now saved as just QC Discussion Forum)

It was changed the better part of a year ago, as far as I recall.  I felt that it had no continuing meaning, after there had been a couple of posts asking why it was there.

So why was it there, out of sheer curiosity? Was there another comic that shared this forum originally, or something like that?

Sometimes I forget how long I've been here, probably because some people have been here far longer (about three years, two as a mod). My life's pretty different in some major ways and depressingly similar in others.

You take me wrong; I was thinking of the blues as a repetitive song pattern, and the repetitive aspect of those comparison "contests" when they get going...

You've seen 'em - we've had a few in here before.  Not a real "contest", just people sitting around, talking about themselves and one-upping each other as best as they can.

"I've been here this long"
"Yeah, I've been here twice as long as that"
"Well, I've been here since day 2, and I killed the guy who was here first, so top that!"

Crap like that.  Basically a dick-measuring contest, but with other units.

The way I imagine it, someone will casually mention being in a relationship with an AI in conversation, and it will totally be not a big deal(tm).

I can totally imagine Steve suddenly telling Marten that he and Cosette have broken up some time ago, and that Steve now is a realtionship with an AnthroPC. And pretending that neither news is anything big.

Okay, I'm going to admit something...

Despite the surprise ending of today's strip (2627), I noticed something else - Delilah's shirt has a serious case of outline jaggies. I don't think it's been this bad since the strip with Cosette and Hanners on their first day on the job at CoD.

Yeah, yeah, I know - but I noticed it upon a second read of the strip. I'm chalking it up to Jeph's new tablet.

It's a graphics term from "the old days" of the net. The lines around her shirt have slightly "jagged" edges - not 8-bit edges, but not smooth. Like I said, I've only seen it that one other time.

Obvious step-changes in curved lines, for the most part. They're a result of trying to represent a curve when your drawing toolkit consists entirely of straight lines and right angles.

Yeah... I just remember the originally-posted version of (wow, was it THAT long ago?) 1758 where the last panel was rather off with regards to Cosette's face. You can kinda see what I'm talking about when you look at Cosette's right arm - and then at Delilah's shirt.

I don't see anything massively jarring (worse than normal, anyway), but...
Are you thinking of the apex of the curve of her back in the last panel? I do make out a definite flat section there.

There's nothing particularly off about the examples jwhouk's bringing up because...well, every page is like that. Just look at Hannelore's left arm on 1760 and it's there, too. And Dora's arm on the very next page. And the next page. And so on.

The comic's always got some pixelated edges happening. Sometimes it's just more obvious than other times, usually when there are lighter colors surrounding the lines (which is why arms make it so obvious on pale-skinned characters: thick black line right next to very light tone).

Jwhouk's observation is accurate in that the lines have some jagged pixelation, but MoM's also right in that there's nothing "off" about those examples since it's consistent throughout the comic.

It's most noticeable on white pieces of clothing. I'm familiar with it because of my Mac background, and because of my (poor) attempts at coloring b&w comics.

Tai is an anarchist! At least, her laptop has an anarchism symbol on the lid http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1968.

Faye's distress code is "the peaches are ripe".
Thing is, a similar code ("the oranges are ripe") was used in the RAF during WW2 to tell bombers the objective was fulfilled (and thus, there was no need to risk other planes in another bomb run.).

I noticed that Jeph has (probably accidentally) doubled several small story arcs:
1) Angus does not like coffee and gets an alternative beverage (Fayes lines in both of those are almost identical):

2) Faye talks to Dr Corinne about drinking (although the second time she says she's never brought it up before):
The first time, Faye is really hungover and thus wants to cut down, the second time Marten accidentally calls her an alcoholic.

Maybe there are more of these, but these are the ones I've found.
