Trying to find a particular old movie
« on: 07 Aug 2013, 14:54 »

hello.  I remember seeing this movie a few years ago though I am sure it was made back in the 60s.  It was a rom-com I think staring a girl who was not Audrey Hepburn but looks a lot like her. I remember a wife who knew or worked with the character and she was smashing everything of her husbands because she thought they were having an affair.  Then there was a long funny car chase scene at the end to the airport that involved all the characters (and a cop) where everything was made clear for everyone.  Any Idea on the movie?  hell we could probably turn this thread into a game eventually if we want.

 I thought:

 -What's Up, Doc? (the misunderstanding).
-A Guide for the Married Man (the cheater).
 -Bullitt (car chase?).
-It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (funny car chase).

But those are not the one you're looking for  :-P .

Do you remember anything else? Anything  :-) .

I was thinking What's Up, Doc myself, but Streisand looks nothing like Hepburn.

reasons why everyone was running to the air port (as best i can recall):

old man-wife thinks I was cheating on her, she'll never believe me that I wasnt.  i'm getting out of here!

wife- wait my husband wasnt cheating on me and he's running away scared? wait it was a total misunderstanding

the audrey looking woman- either I screwed this all up and must stop the guy I like from getting on a plane to paris or screw this I am going to paris

the guy: the audrey looking woman doesnt like me, guess I'll go to paris and get some sort of inheritance? or I must stop her from going to paris.

there were also a smug looking man and woman waiting at the terminal for the guy and someone how they end up going to paris together instead.

oh and the cop goes bananers chasing everyone that the men in white coats drag him off at the airport.

also the chase scene involves everyone switching cars and motorcycles and all kind of wackiness.  Mind you the car chase wasnt the movie, it was the end of the movie (climax?).

I just got the image of a midwife and a woman giving birth swinging towards each other on a trapeze - when they meet, the midwife pulls the baby out. The knife juggler is standing on the floor and cuts the umbilical cord with a a knifethrow.

There's this really handy "other thing" I'm going to write as a footnote to my abstract that I can probably explore these issues in. I think I'll call it my "dissertation."
