To me it actually also seems that Faye is meaner than usual - at least looking at her later development, not at the earliest comic. So I guess her increased power might be getting to her head a bit. But I also really expect Dale to stand up to that at some point.
Anyway, I like the new CoD arc(s), just like old times!
And yeah, the resisting to flirtation part would be a nice gag. I imagine Dale would ace it, given his past work experience, no matter whether the flirting comes from a girl or a guy.

Given Dale's job as a pizza delivery (and the way some people apparently tried to tip him), he probably wouldn't have a hard time passing the test.

Oh, I had totally forgotten that comic! But yeah, it shows that Dale has had to defend against much more than just flirting.

Indeed.
Looking at that now, I notice he never actually voiced objection, and he did come into the apartment between panels, so there's no evidence he passed and he may in fact have failed. Relief at it not being the case isn't enough.

  • The distilled essence of Mr. James Beam himself.

relief indicated that, had it been offered, he would have had to refuse.

Or at least think about it...

As it was, he still had no idea what she was offering!

It seems highly likely that he would have refused, but less likely that he would have refused with COD-worthy sarcasm.  He's admitted that he's scared of talking to girls, so he might have ended up floundering his way out of that situation.

I wouldn't assume that his taking Hanners's words as suggestive means he's actually been offered sexual favors as a delivery tip.  He could just as easily have gotten the idea from pr0n.  Heck, you don't even have to have ever seen any pr0n about pizza delivery boys to know that that's a theme.  (Tho, being a pizza delivery boy, he probably would have made a point of looking up some of that stuff...)

I am living proof of the statement that you don't have to have seen the relevant porn for the expectation.

What can I say. My porn is usually either classier or devoid of story. Although one muses whether pornography involving two or more people in love with each other does not, in fact, have a beautiful story to tell.

Yeah, I've never watched it either--I think I first learned of the theme from this xkcd.  Which Dale may have read too--we know from Marigold's shirt that there's xkcd in the QC universe.
