Favorite covers thread

(1/42) > >>

So there was one of these but it hasn't been posted in since 2005.  So maybe it's time for a new thread?

Starting us off:

* Walk Off The Earth cover Taylor Swift's I Knew You Were Trouble (and also everything else Walk Off The Earth ever does)
* Punch Brothers cover The Cars' Just What I Needed
* R.E.M. covers Leonard Cohen's First We Take Manhattan
* Cake covers Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive
* Garbage and Screaming Females cover Patti Smith and Bruce Springsteen's Because the Night-----

Your turn!

My favorites are not from widely renown bands or artists, but renown in the YouTube community. Two of my favorites:

Birdy- Skinny Love (Bon Iver)
Drew Tabor- Born to Die (Lana del Rey)

Not a big Linkin Park fan, but I do really enjoy this cover of Adele's Rolling in the Deep.

In the category of "covers that are better than the original," Johnny Cash - Hurt.

I completely agree with the Johnny Cash cover. Infinitely better than the original. Also, wow, I didn't know Linkin Park did an Adele cover. I quite like it.

I absolutely love covers and I can link to mine when I get home but for now I just wanted to post so I can follow this thread.
