yeah, i've been trying to find a legit vest but it's hard. (i mostly just use it to hide the fact that that shirt is old and filthy, anyway)

haha and also, this is what the back of the vest looks like and the reason why i always keep the jacket on at work.
i got the vest from my dad and he is a massive hippie so that sort of explains it.

I am doing this all wrong, right guys?

I dunno, I would suggest that if you wear an obnoxiously orange shirt, then at least don't wear black with it, because it makes it look a halloween-y. I'd go for a chocolate brown dress pant or grey perhaps. And lose the tie if you can. Also, I'm sorry, I just don't know how I feel about matching you shoes in colour to your terrifically bright shirt. How I would do this outfit, if you're super attached to that shirt and the chucks lok is:
1) your orange shirt
2) or something grey, but flatfront and slim.
3) or

Perhaps even worn with such as a cardigan:

I love the bright orange on you, Jordan. And I like it with the shoes, I think it's cute. The black pants do make it slightly halloweeny, brown might be better...I think some sort of pin-striped would be best. With a lot of solid colors, you need some sort of pattern. Omg, tweed pants would rock, too.

The pants look gray to me, but maybe I'm wrong... :? Anyway, I actually think the whole outfit works reasonably well. I might go with a different color shoe, but you look pretty confident and happy in it and you can actually pull off orange.

I can't chime in on the suit on this page because it's really, really blurry and I can't really see what all it's made up of except for the jacket, which is pretty cool.

A) Dresses do look good on you, you're insane.

B) The last two are much better than the first. I'm not a big fan of the waistline on the first one, but the stripes are cute and the sash cinched at waist look on the last one is really nice!

Yeah, my first reaction to the last set of pictures was 'do you model for AA?' It's not just the stance though, it's also the color combo of the clothes.

The dresses look good! Especially the last two, the first one is a bit weird, a bit shabby maybe? Dunno.

I'll say button up, I have a lot of nice button up shirts, but I don't feel like sweating when it is 120 degrees outside to wear pants with them. I was wondering if it is something that can be done in this weather transition phase. It will be hot during the day, but cool at night, so I'm looking for something that I can wear while it is hot, but then also while it is cool without having to go home and change.

Andy, the first dress is not working because the empire waist is basically erasing your natural waist and turning your torso into one width.
The second dress is cute I think, but you need hella fashion balls to pull it off well and not look like you are going yachting. Correct shoes will be of utmost importance.
The last dress is a really nice color for you and is my favorite of the bunch, but it really needs that waist sash to prevent the same problem dress #1 has.

And stop saying you look bad in dresses, you have the body type that makes the worst shit look great.

So guys, remember way back when I bought these shoes? Well, I have been looking for a decent dress to go with them ever since (because I can't justify a tshirt a jeans with them?). By decent I mean something I actually really like but will also not show up the shoes. Incidentally, these all came up on ebay all at once this week! I was totally surprised because it has actually been really difficult in the past to find any that I like.

Which one is best?

Also it is very perplexing to me that no one ever made a vintage black dress with yellow trim bits or anything. That would be a pretty mod 60s combo, wouldn't it? I would think so. Maybe not.

2 for the shoes, but isnt the likelyhood of finding a matching/complementary yellow pretty low? I think they would look rad as hell with just a straightup black dress and then work on finding a bracelet or earrings or something in a yellow where you can actually look at the shoes next to the item before buying it.

I am sorry Katie love I cannot help you with advice for your shoe dilemma, I do not particularly like those shoes or any of the dresses but I am sure you will look lovely somehow because you usually do. Also Jordan you completely disregarded my con colour advice! It was pretty similar to Kieffer's though, remember?

Anywhere here is a thing I am trying to do, it is to look more interesting. I bought most of this stuff in the past few days and I am trying to work out ways to wear them.

First I bought my neat big black jacket and these shoes!
Then I went thrifting crazy and found this jacket which will be good to wear to work on the chilly mornings, it is all lined and super cosy and fits great. Also at the same time I found these neat tan leather heels made in Brazil, they will be awesome for summer but maybe not now (remember it is coming into winter in Australia.) I also picked up a white formal shirt that fits a bit better than my last because they are always handy.
Yesterday also on my way home I found a great turquoise pleated skirt and two pairs of tights which a couple of weeks ago I would never have dreamed of putting on my legs. (Maybe not the purple tights with the green skirt or those shoes, but I was just experimenting. Maybe when it gets warmer I can rock the green skirt with a white tee and a denim waistcoat and a plaited leather belt and my cowboy boots, that could be nice.)
I figure I will use the fuschia tights for something like this (this with the jacket on top) oh and hey, there is that white skirt, and the black skirt which was causing me such trouble back in March, and the awesome scarf that I bought a little while ago and couldn't figure out what to do with.

Yay?

Does anyone have any suggestions for high quality nice looking brands of glasses for a 27 year old guy like me?

I wish I could tell you the brand of glasses that I'm wearing, but the font is too small and faded for me too read without me wearing my glasses, and putting in my contacts just to read this I thought was a bit of overkill. It's a japanese brand, and I really like the frame. It's pretty thick, brown, and has nice patterned lines on the inside. I like them.

With glasses, brand doesn't matter as much I always thought. Some of my favorite frames were the cheaper ones.

Katie, 2 and 3 are the best dresses, 4 isn't bad but the model is kinda ruining it for me, I think, it looks really shapeless.

Ally you are stylish in all the best ways.

Caleb, I wear Persol's as my main glasses these days. I also have a pair by a german company called joop! that are a little less formal/nerdy, and an old pair of black plastic frame Versace glasses that are useful, even if the prescription is too weak.

It's also worth looking at boutique eyewear places, you can often find really awesome vintage frames for a comparable price, or even cheaper, that will look really rad and be more unique. Some of the older Ray Bans, for example, are just epically awesome. You're gonna have to shop around, but I suggest making sure you get something you like, not just grabbing whatever first catches your fancy. It doesn't hurt to have a bunch of choices, even if it takes longer!

so i'm really thinking about picking up this canvas-jacket for cold-spring and windy summer days.
i think the dude in that picture is maybe wearing it a size bigger than he should be

what do you think? i could go for a different colour, but that's all they have in my size.

if nay, then where can a hombre get a decent springl jacket that doesn't cost a king's ransom? that one's only priced at 70$

There are some pretty nice looking/VERY affordable ones on the mens section of the forever21 site, if you don't mind the jacket only lasting a season or two.

also, related to burning stuff: a friend threw up on a hot water heater once, the vomit steam burned her face. awesome!
