don't get me wrong, i love my macbook and all but... i think maybe i would have put a tiny bit more thought into the decision to get a mac instead of a pc if i knew that getting gimp to recognize my tablet would be this fucking infuriating beyond belief

seriously though, if anyone reading this has a mac and a wacom tablet and is willing to spend some time walking me though this that would be really wonderful because i am like one straw away from giving up and just hurling both of these fucking things out of the window right now

I've set up a wacom with a mac before, but never with GIMP. I believe GIMP has problems with pressure sensitivity in OSX, so if that's your problem, you may be out of luck.

[EDIT - actually this has been fixed, but there are still a few problems. try reading this ]

So yesterday it was the unveiling of my grandfather's headstone, which was pretty cool because it was followed by hangi and drink and fun with the family. The girlfriend came around kinda late since she was getting back from something the day before, which turned out well because by the time she got there it was mostly family (also her first time meeting pretty much all of them aside from my parents and sister).

Fastforward to a little later to the night my cousin who was pretty plastered ended up leaving and getting in a car crash, then turns out was pretty off his face on P and not booze. Also a little earlier a son of a cousin's husband tried to step out my cousin because he was upset that he was a major dick and wouldn't shut up and needed to be a man somehow?

Welcome to the fam Rach!

I have decided that I am not going to go back to uni. I'm not prepared to spend another $60,000 dollars and six years of my life on learning to do something I don't want 100% to do. I don't even 50% want to do it. I maybe, at best, 20% want to do it.

As such I'm going to work on a new goal. 1. Get a job in a bookshop. 2. Ascend through the ranks by being really good at retail. 3. Do a small business course at TAFE (community/vocational college i guess) 4. Open my own business?

Obviously saving money to start said business all the while.

New years eve to new years was spent at the game store. Things started off poorly, but ended up being pretty alright. I got there around 10pm and left at around 1030am.
Then, on new years day I played in the Magic the Gathering draft and got 3rd place.
On Palindrome Day (Saturday), I went to the store in the afternoon, played Lord of the Rings, then ran a game of BOOM POW BAM! it was fun.

I leave in 9 days to go to the frozen north.

So I'm doing Internet Radio! They said they needed more people to do Rock/Alternative (whatever the hell that means), so I'm doing NNG Radio ( http://nngradio.youstream.fm ) next Saturday!

Honestly, I just think they want someone to play "Fireflies" without it interrupting the Dancehall/Reggae/"Rap", but I won't, so sucks for them.

This young man here
makes vaginas live in fear!
Sometimes he goes to the club
and others to the pub!
It's here that he does his charm
and walks out with a lady on each arm!
Home he goes!
Fucks his hoes!

Ohhhhh, his name is Tommyyyyyy
All of the women love him
Even his mommyyyyyyy
When he walks in the room, women go mad!
They squeal and say, "oh, look, it's Tommyyyyyy!"

ugh, so I just broke it off (I don't want to say broke up cause I didn't ever feel like we were in a relationship) with a girl I had been kind of seeing before I left on winter break and came to the conclusion that I wasn't into it at all so now I feel like a bit of an ass.

I'm fairly certain it was the right thing cause I was getting a bit bored and the sex kinda sucked but she was sweet, and now I just feel like a jerk. I wish I could go out and get drunk but then I would be breaking new years resolution one and only, and lets be honest here, four days is not nearly long enough to feel like I accomplished something.

Instead I am going to eat.
