The "Next" link doesn't work at all from Monday's strip to today's filler, and the "Prev" link from today's filler takes you back to Friday's strip instead of Monday's. I normally bookmark the last comic I read and continue reading from there, so I had no clue there WAS a filler strip until I saw you folks commenting about it and went to the Home page to check it out.

Yeah, I'm familiar with the concept of bookmarking, thanks. The reason I don't do it that way is because I don't always have the time to check the comic every day, and I don't want to see the latest comic before I've seen the ones leading up to it.

Which could make this interesting. On one hand, Marten seems to like his women assertive. On the other, however, he does have a knack for drawing the more timid/reticent ones out of their shells (think Hanners, Marigold, and Claire). A Marten and Delilah relationship would be a rehash of the Marten-Dora dynamic in some ways, whereas Swingset Girl would be a change (I'll leave it to someone else to speculate as to whether she's the change he needs, necessarily, but she'd be a change nonetheless).

In my experience, if she was a lesbian, she wouldn't have such an issue with a friend dating an ex. If we couldn't date women our friends had dated, we wouldn't be able to date anyone. Small dating pool.

To me, it's not so much "shunning earthly desires" as it is "living within your means". With a million dollars, a smart person can live a comfortable life on $1000/week for over 19 years. A stupid person will blast that same cash on a couple of Ferraris and be screwed again in 3 months or so.

My earthly desires are limited (games, anime, books, Internet). That, food, and a roof over my head (read: place to store all that stuff) is all I want.

Especially true in smaller towns, there are really only so many other lesbians around that most of the time people wind up dating everyone eventually, trying to find someone to match. Bigger cities it would be better. More people, even with low percentages of same-sex attracted people you have a bigger pool to choose from.. But when you know of maybe a dozen same-sex attracted people within driving distance....

I can't agree with that. Marten need someone who is willing and able to give him some space. Otherwise he'll erase himself completely, and resent both himself and his partner.

Yes, lesbian communities can get a bit incestuous. I ended up having to move half way across the country to find a new dating pool. The dating pool in the town where I went to uni and lived after graduation had become so tainted with drama that dating became really difficult.
