Would people who didn't know that Momo was a robot be able to tell?

With Momo, probably not, since Jim's daughter couldn't tell. On the other hand, Pintsize buying condoms (source, someone?) probably was noticeable.

Did I miss something where Padma and Sam thought Momo was human? Or just that they didn't comment that she was a robot? I mean, judging from the shop she bought it from, that's a fairly common or standard model she wears. And considering it was a shop in a mall, that indicates to me it's a pretty big and likely popular chain. So it's probably not uncommon to see robots with that chassis wandering around, to the point where nobody much notices or comments.

Maybe she just got Pintsize to do the buying, or went to a convenience store run by AnthroPCs

Jeph talked a little about this in an old QA dump:

Quote from: Jeph's tumblr
Exactly how lifelike is Momo’s new chassis supposed to look? Sam seemed to think she was a human when she first met her, but Hannelore playing with her squeaky skin makes it seem like it’s some kind of obviously-plastic substance. So would an average passer-by take her to be a normal person (bright pink hair notwithstanding, I guess), or is she more of an Uncanny Valley machine the way some of today’s Japanese robots are?

She’s close enough that a kid could mistake her for human at first glance. But she wouldn’t fool anybody who was actually paying attention or familiar with humanoid AnthroPCs.

EDIT: CURVY straight-haired brunette nerd girl plus scruffy-looking, gangly, doesn't-know-what-to-do-with-his-hair nerd guy, both appropriately bespectacled. At each other's throats before they were together.  Way into sexing each other now.  Does anyone else feel like they know these people in real life, or better yet know at least three pairs of these people in real life? Does anyone feel like they are one of these people? Because I'm starting to think there's a conspiracy.

Seeing as I implied I was part of one of those pairs, I'd tend to agree. I was just wondering if other people know lots of examples of this sort of archetypal couple or if I just coincidentally live around a lot of them.

I no longer meet Dale's archetype, but I did once and frequently ended up with curvier girls shorter than me. I take better care of myself now, I'm not scruffy any more, but I do still typically end up with shorter girls, although they aren't (generally) curvier than average.

They are usually curvy though.

I'm going to stop talking before I end up disappearing up my own arsehole.

Upon Googling it, I agree fun-sized usually means short.  My mistake.  I don't think Marigold has been portrayed as abnormally short, though Dale does seem particularly tall.

Well, my wife is a curvy, straight-haired brunette nerd girl with glasses. I'm tall and kind of gangly and have long hair, and while I didn't wear glasses when we met, I do now. As for being a nerd, I'm on this forum, aren't I?  :-D Besides being a software developer. We were never at each other's throats, though. So we're batting somewhere around 70% here?

Perhaps Faye and Angus accidentally barge in on Marigold, clad only in a blanket and holding pancakes and syrup?

Or perhaps Angus has just gotten his payback for being too loud with Faye (went looking for the comic, but couldn't find it)...

Dude, what are you talking about. QC is still funny.
It's always alternated between what I call the hilarious shit and the serious shit.
It's the serious shit that defines the characters, and makes their actions in the hilarious shit more hilarious.

Or maybe I'm just stark raving mad. Who knows?

Hey, this one was amusing -- during the first rest pause they remember, "OH, right, the pancakes!" and Mari just fetches them entirely deadpan; Momo's "syrup is for the pancakes" line.  They can't all be ROFL masterpieces.

Damn, and there I thought "fun-sized" was all about breasts, and how small tits are fun to play with. My English lexicon is full of eels.

And I really don't want to know what that syrup goes on, other than the pancakes.
Well, since you don't want to know I'll spoiler the answer. Even though it's quite obvious.

It had bothered me for some days, but now I just figured out why the animated GIFs of Momo emerging out of the kitchen creeped me out. Especially the one with the fingers that K1dmor made.
It reminds me of one of the creepiest scenes of Serial Experiment Lain:

It was totally unexpected, but now back to CoD. Marten is whining as usual, now towards Faye. Obviously, he wants everyone to know what happened, but why? Does he want them to feel sorry for him, or is it just his way to get it out of his system? If I were Faye, I would slap him, tell him to stop whining, and go home to take a shower. He must be quite smelly by now.

It is possible, but the storyline is probably something like this:
  • Marten wakes up on Sunday morning, and is swiftly kicked out by Delilah. He has no change of clothes, and little or no time in the bathroom.
  • He walks over to Steve and Cosette to whine.
  • Meanwhile, we have the Dale/Marigold intermezzo. As this takes place over the timespan of approx 24 hours, there might be parallel timelines. Dale probably arrives Saturday evening (same time as Delilah's party), and the pancake event happens at about the same time Marten is kicked out from Delilah's house.
  • Marten has now left Steve and Cosette, and walked over to CoD to whine a little bit more. It is still Sunday, still quite early in the day, and Faye has just opened shop. No other customers there yet.
  • Therefore, Marten has had no time to take a shower or change clothes. To quote Faye, he is ripe by now.

Because a GSP hates Valentine's Day? As a HMP*, but still remembering my GSP days, I can sympatize. Still, I think it is wrong that Jeph is not celebrating the day in some way. Marten at CoD could have waited until Monday (or until eternity for all I care, I am sick of his whining).

That makes no sense because the comic is not in real time. Hasn't only about a year of time passed in the preceding decade of comic?

Maybe, but this does not change my theory at all. Jeph tends not to jump much backwards or forwards in time, there is a strict chronological progress in the overall story. But in order to tell parallel storylines, there must be some time jumps when shifting focus between them. Still, the time jumps tend to be quite small, Jeph likes to shift focus instead of completing one storyline before jumping back to the other. We saw this during the Space Station arc, where Angus and Faye suddenly appeared in the middle of the arc. Jeph probably wanted us to remember that there was still life on Earth.

EDIT: Ok, maybe I misunderstood. Because QC is not real time, it makes no sense to celebrate Valentine's Day on Feb. 14th, because in QC it would probably be just another day. Still, Jeph could have celebrated in some way outside the main storyline, like in his Happy New Year greetings.

Oh Marten... The title of todays comic says it all for me: "Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah"

I was kinda hoping Delilah's story would have helped him to not take everything so seriously all the time so that he would stop feeling sorry for himself and maybe go out from time to time, have fun and possibly meet someone interesting but alas... Marten will be Marten. :-P
