For the record, I'm a dude and I never needed to "try" ONS to know they arent for me.
I dont think Marten was really going for an ONS, either. Its only natural he's disappointed that it turned out to be one.
Agreed. I think if Marten had known up front that the sex would lead to nothing, he wouldn't have bothered. Some guys just aren't built to "hit it and quit it". Indeed, I doubt that a person who WAS built that way would have so many devoted female friends, since a certain lack of respect for one's partners is implied in such an attitude.
Marbear is proof positive that anyone can eventually find happiness.
We can find it, just not permanently.
Also agreed but only for certain values of "happy". Permanent happiness on the level that Dale and Marigold are enjoying right now is not only impossible but would be unhealthy IF possible. Human minds and bodies are not designed to maintain such strong emotions, positive or not, for prolonged periods.
Lower baseline emotions...more of a general "happy" or "contentment"...certainly can be maintained for longer periods, interrupted occasionally by annoyance or tragedy or even good fortune, but always returning to base "content" status.
Of course, even this isn't permanent. Nothing is when dealing with mortal beings.
On another note, I am glad to see that Faye is beginning to see Marten's growing discontent. Now that I know that she is aware there's a problem, I am confident that she'll find some way to cheer him up soon..though Angus appears to be little help in that.
