That's what I was asking. Apparently he did not.

Actually I DID mean Guinness.  Even I occasionally have spelling brain farts.

Yellow Beer?  Jimbo must be a Lager man.  Give that man a Steinlager!

Dad's or Barq's, sometimes Stewart's. A&W and Frostie when I was younger.

"I know beer comes in colors, an' I know I like yellow ones." Hahaha, classic Jimbo! Cuts right to the heart of the matter without wasting any time. As long as Will doesn't come across as too condescending, Jimbo's going to be fine.

Jimbo beer.

Good man.
I favor Barq's or A&W for regular drinking, myself; I tried Dad's again recently, and the licorice was a bit strong.  Stewart's is all right.  Lately I've been developing a taste for Bulldog and local brewery Steelhead; Weinhardt's used to be semi-local (same state, at least), but they got bought out and moved to TX and pretty thoroughly commercialized.  Still a step up from the stuff that comes in cans, but only one step.

Heh, now I'm reminded of one of the "better" cheap beers here. 5,0 Original. That's basically not even a name, they just tell you that it's 5.0% alcohol.

(click to show/hide)

I don't have any experience with fancy beers. The only fancy beers I've ever seen here are from Braufactum.  Normally I just fo for Flensburger Pilsener or Flensburger Dunkel. Nice and refreshingly bitter.

Steve has a definite tendancy to switch into obnoxious mode at the drop of a hat. If his goal in life was to make his friends as uncomfortable as possible, he wouldn't behave much differently.

I think you're underestimating him. ;)

To be a bit more serious, his behaviour is a long long way from the most obnoxious I have encountered.

There is and there is. It varies by nation and region of course, and it also depends on how you define "well", the shittest thing behind the bar? Well some bars actually serve Pabst or Natty to actual people!

Depending on the bar, that could range from paint-thinner to something drinkable.  Living in a university town, I'm surprised at the number of trust fund kids coming in and drinking cheap PBR at places with over 40 beers and an entire (long) shelf of single-malt.  I assume it's just because they're aiming at maximal intoxication for minimal outlay.

I know it's shocking but they do it! Ditto Corona, I don't know what the fuck is in the water in Mexico that gets into people's brains and makes them think that bottled cat piss is anything but actual...
It's well-marketed.  The times I have seen anyone who is actually *from* Mexico drink that stuff are countable with my shoes on.

Despite my pedigree, I am staying out of this discussion due to my lack of enjoyment of beer.

However, I would like to point out I live in the Beer Capital of the United States.

Don't remember the travel bit - but yes, he's successful by virtue of being a spectacularly bad writer.  But that needn't correlate so much with other aspects of his life anyway.

I dont really get todays comic.
"Checking baggage" might refer to rearranging your junk to a more comfortable position.
"Locating your passport" might refer to look for an ID so you can get served at the bar. Although Angus does not look underage.
"Ticket punched": Cocaine?
Just some idle speculation, with help from the Urban Dictionary. There might be other interpretations. But Steve is definitely a douchebag.
When correctly viewed, anything is lewd.

He doesn't seem to have had a good male role model when he was growing up, and his alcohol problem may not have helped his personality.

Linds and MoM each asked me to change their "star" icons; as those go with the category of membership, I had to create new membership groups for each of them - hence the slightly different names; the new groups control their icons, but they are still members of the Global Moderator group.  MoM suggested his group name; I considered calling the group for Linds "Grumpy Moderator", but thought that was not actually true, so didn't!
