Seeing how drunk Marten is, I am really dreading Friday.

You are not only, mon ami.

I have this nightmare scenario that somehow Marten hits on Faye, Faye knocks Marten into the middle of next week, and Angus promptly tells Faye he's leaving.

If he's knocked into next week, he'll at least have been long over the hangover... though Tai might complain about missed work.  :-P Friday can't come soon enough.

I'm wondering if that might be in the opposite order... Angus tells Faye he's leaving, it doesn't go well, then a still-drunk Marten admits his undying love for Faye and gets knocked into next Thursday. (The question of whether Marten still has feelings for Faye showed up regularly while he was with Dora... has it necessarily gone away?)

Or Marten is drunk to the point where he misses Faye getting dumped/left by Angus and leaving and then Faye knocks Marten into next week  once he gets over his hangover for not being there when she needs him.

I count 5 drunk bubbles, which is a lot more than the usual 3. Marten is drunk indeed. As for Friday, I guess it must be something very bad, probably involving Faye and Marten. Marten might barf in Faye's lap, Faye will hit Marten, Angus will get mad at Faye for overreacting, Faye will hit Angus for interfering, Pintsize will say something nasty so Faye will hit him too, Hanners will be alarmed by the noise downstairs and freak out at the barfed-on Faye. Orbital bombardment next. Everything goes downhill from there.

Pretty sure that Friday comic would have to extend into next week, NilsO.  :-P Unless, of course, Faye really does punch him hard enough to send him into the future...

Seriously, I love Marten's drunk faces this week... I'm hoping for one or two more good ones before this whole thing falls apart.

Drunk Marten just looks like that cartoon character archetype prone to doing very stupid things. And given he actually is, and he's definitely in the worst situation for it leaves me feeling very uncomfortable.

I am also very worried, especially with Jeph's ominous prophecy.
Although it would in my opinion not fit into the context of their latest interaction at all, I'm kind of worried about Angus and Faye breaking up now, possibly with Marten having some kind of ugly involvement in that... I like Faye and Angus as a couple and I like Angus by himself.
As I said at the beginning of the week: I hope Angus has the good sense to put Marten to bed directly, so he can't make any life-altering decisions while drunk. And hopefully Faye is already in bed when they arrive.
Isn't it weird, though, that Angus has stayed up so long despite having this important audition the next day? At least he's not drunk, but I'd not want to go into the equivalent of a job interview with such little sleep. Or maybe the audition is in the evening.

That suggests another possibility: Angus is so stressed out about getting the job and explaining it to Faye that he screws up the interview and ends up not getting the job.

Prediction: we will hate Friday's comic because Thursday's will be a cliffhanger and Friday's will switch scenes completely. And also be a cliffhanger.

Well, for an open audition that's what we would expect, so not really something everybody will hate, in my opinion.

To be fair, Faye works baker's hours -- that is, work (presumably) starts really early in the morning for her. Angus could also sleep on the train to NYC. And, as you said, he's not drunk.

I don't think so. CoD gets their baked goods from the Secret Bakery. And they don't open that early:
http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1719
Already bright daylight in this one. Probably they don't open that late either, otherwise Marten and the interns couldn't have gotten coffee before the library opens: http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=2237
But ok, that's kind of beside the point here. Maybe CoD has even changed their opening hours since then to accomodate people who want to get coffee before work?
You're probably right that Angus can sleep on the train and I guess the audition isn't early in the morning.

For Friday, I'm also hoping for "just" a cliffhanger.

I'm guessing that (after, or while, they clean Marten up) he finds the most tactless way possible to bring up Angus' gig, Faye's reaction, etc etc.  Possibly under the delusion that he's "helping" by getting it all out in the open.  (Along with his stomach contents.)

My first guess about the Friday cartoon that we'll hate was exactly that - an anti-climax of some sort.
The suggestion of a cliff-hanger is a good one too.
Outrageous behaviour or dramatic showdown between current protagonists, though it looks like the way things could be heading, is not exactly "you are going to hate this" material.
Surely it'll be something unexpected. Or a Yelling Bird filler. That would be annoying.
Or a horrible pun...

I definitely thought it was Dora and not Faye in the first panel (because of the color of Faye's hair due to the darkness of the room), which made me VERY confused.

Subsequently, I went on an archive dive. We haven't seen Dora since 2611!

Hmm... going back to the idea of it being a Claire-pun, perhaps the remaining events of the night are skipped over entirely, and we see Marten at the library, complaining about his hangover. He wonders what he did last night and what punishment awaits. Hopefully, it's nothing that he'd hang over.

That's basically my prediction for tomorrow's strip; Marten's "chunders" into Faye's lap (or on her feet, she is standing after all), Faye reacts in typical fashion for her and destroys Marten's testicles in retaliation, and he passes out from the pain with his face in a puddle of his own chunder. Faye leaves him there and goes back to bed (well, first to the bathroom to wash off her feet...). Cue forum outrage at Marten's rough treatment.
