I'd rather have had some drama.
Why, though? I'm genuinely curious why something bad happening  could be preferable.

It's the recipe for writing a good story.  If no bad thing ever happens, it gets boring.

Unless it's porn, I guess.

Plenty bad happens, I'd say.

Even in porn. Imagine what would happen if no sinks ever got clogged, or if nobody got hungry and ordered pizza.

I just figured it out.  Yelling Bird is Marten's spine/motivation/lack-of-passiveness.  That avian predator stole it.

And the only way to cure Marten will be to stick Yelling Bird...

Nah.

I was relieved as soon as I saw that it's just Yelling Bird. Better this than an unpleasant plot twist.

Without unpleasant plot twists virtually no story would ever be worth reading.

Unpleasant plot twists can result in mass chaos on the message boards... and it was on a Friday, which would have made for a meltdown of epic proportions on here.

  • The mischief that dwells within

That would be a rather unpleasant twist.

It's less a preference for bad things and more a aversion butts.

Well, the dark side of the butts that is.

Thanks for the birthday wishes!  :-D

As for the comic, I'm glad nothing painfully awkward or status quo rattling happened (between the characters). But it certainly is sad to find cloaca when you expected some sort of climax.
