Somewhat gutted about Rik Mayall. One of comedy's real mavericks - or part of one of the real maverick double acts. Distinctive, hilarious, all around brilliant, but capable of drama.

In other news, that Chewbacca gif is longer than Peter North's erection, just why the fuck?

That's a one. That's how I write my ones, often - a seven has a line through the stem.

That is normal in continental Europe, as is using a comma for the decimal place.

If that was the case, don't you think it would show up in typography? I don't know of any font or style that has striked sevens. I strike my sevens but my parents don't, pretty sure it varies from person to person.

I have always thought of it as a French thing - my handwriting is generally fairly French in the way I form my letters and numbers (the only exception is the way I write Ks which are more English - I don't like the French style of k).

Here's one, though I agree it's hardly mainstream!

That's a one. That's how I write my ones, often - a seven has a line through the stem.
I don't put a stroke through seven, but I do through zero.

If that was the case, don't you think it would show up in typography? I don't know of any font or style that has striked sevens.
Apparently there are several according to this forum posting.

I put a line through my sevens and through Zs as well- otherwise, my Zs look too much like twos.

I put a line through Zs, but not 7s. It's a habit I picked up as a physics undergrad. As lepetitfromage said, it's to distinguish Zs from 2s.

Out of everything for that picture... the iron throne, the well-behaved child, the nicely done banner... what impresses me most are the two cats.
Those are the most well-behaved cats in history to sit that still like that.
I can't believe that was intentional. My mind won't accept it. He was trying to take a picture of his kid, the cats jumped up to mug the picture, and it was too perfect not to snap; a happy accident.

Indeed. That is for the record a Tiger 1 E, the full production model vs. the Porsche prototype that never saw production.
