So as related to my primary occupation, I believe I am correct as to the identity of those firearms, down to splicing out the Chinese variant of the PPSh submachine gun the Type 50, and given the weapons, clothing and coloration of the photo, along with the poster (Tovarishch Akima is nothing if not reliable in her insight and interesting references and posts relating to Chinese history) I feel I am safe in assuming it's from the cultural revolution, probably a group of Red Guard.
Yes tóngzhě, it is a photo from the early years of the Cultural Revolution, when children were encouraged to denounce their parents and other family members, so it was my comment on the truth of Captain Picard's remark. The Sten gun was used by both sides in the Chinese Civil War 1946-1950. I don't know how many were "original" and how many were locally-made copies.

The Sten submachine gun is a favorite of Nations and individuals with limited manufacturing capacity specifically because it is so simple while I would wager that some of the sub machine guns in China were manufactured by the United States and Common Wealth partners of Great Britain the vast majority were probably locally manufactured by the Imperialist s and the Communists themselves much like the ak-47 of today. The revolutionary equivalent of buying local you could say.

the guy is cosplaying as the Game of Thrones actor in the right picture, the woman in the left picture plays the love interest of that character in the show.

Still not getting it... "Should we"... should we what?  (I have not seen Game of Thrones and have desire to watch it, but it annoys me when there are things I don't understand).

So  it's the actual actor in the left picture?  Is it like he's supposed to be talking to himself or something? Only a year later at the same con?

Is that the actual actor in the right picture in black?

This is just beautiful
