YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE

Over the last couple of days I have had three people send me Friend Requests on Facebook

PLEASE BE AWARE

If you are someone from here (or any other Forum I may be a Member of) and you do not clearly identify yourself to me as to who you are and where I know you from, I WILL IGNORE SUCH A REQUEST.

If you want me to Friend you on FB, and I know you fairly well from here (or anywhere else), rest assured I will add you in.  Just be sure to CLEARLY identify yourself to me.

Thank you

That is all

 :)

I've been getting FB friend requests in my email for years...I'm not even on Facebook!

My block button is getting a workout.

I know plenty will disagree, but I think ignoring a friend request is all sorts of fucked up. If you don't want to be friends, deny the friend request. Block them if you must, but to just leave it pending for months? Fucking rude.

On Facebook? I thought it didn't tell you if the request was denied (i.e. it looked the same if it was denied as if it was ignored). Could also just be they don't check the account anymore.

No, if it's ignored, it says that the request is pending, if it's denied, the add friend option is there again.

No, if it's ignored, it says that the request is pending, if it's denied, the add friend option is there again.
But nobody will notice that, ever, unless they're obsessively stalking them.

No, if it's ignored, it says that the request is pending, if it's denied, the add friend option is there again.

And that's the reason to ignore. If you deny, the request comes back at you. It's happened to me multiple times.

Ok, most of those are pretty disrespectful (as I expected).

But as far as I know, sex shouldn't sound different just because the people engaged in the act are deaf. Seriously. There's dumb questions and there's THAT.

(Now, a philosophical question on the lines of "if two deaf people have sex in the middle of the forest and nobody else is around, does it make a sound?", while terribly disrespectful in my humble opinion, COULD be in order)

today on the news: firefighters brawl while fighting fire. That happened for real in my state.
Used to happen all the time in the days of private firefighting crews; they only got paid for the fires they put out (and also looted the burning houses), so they'd send runners ahead with barrels to clap over the water source.  Then he'd sit on the barrel, fight off the runners from the other fire companies, and hope his team got there before a whole company turned up to beat him to a pulp.  As often as not, two or more companies would arrive close to simultaneously, get up a brawl over who'd fight the fire, leaving the answer to be 'nobody' and the whole neighborhood to burn.  This is why we don't do it that way anymore.
