The Alien Designer and artist passed away in Hospital on Monday after a fall in his home in Zurich.  He was 74 years old.

I saw this, I didn't like everything that he did, some it felt like it was trying too hard to be grimdark for me, but there's no doubt about his influence on art, film and even music. Themes on combining biology and mechanics is pretty successfully explored in his work and it's easy to see that influence in a lot of cyberpunk and sci-fi.

This made me sad. I was already planning on getting a Giger tattoo, but now I think that might be my next piece.
