I remember when most pamphlets and people that came through my door were about god's love and wanting to welcome you into the fold. In the last couple years there seems to be a real surge in the fear-mongering god.

The one I got yesterday was all about how you're born a sinner, there's nothing you can do about it, and sinners deserve death. "Deserve" was the word used. So you better join our sect just incase for the tiny chance to not burn in hell, somehow. Based on the text it was aimed at people who were already some form of Christian and went to church too.

We had Jehovah's Witnesses come by once. I was playing basketball and they took a few shots with me. I didn't want to discuss religion with them, but they were nice about the whole thing... Grandma was not nice about it...

What We Do In The Shadows is a good movie to watch if you know a bunch of classic vampire lore and maybe are also drinking. That's awkward phrasing, but I had to do it because it would be pretty fucked up if I advised you all to read Dracula, then get drunk and watch what we do in the shadows.

Watch it sober, watch it drunk, it's a fucking brilliant film either way. More of that unique, FOTC style of humour :D

Why I rented it in the first place. God, Jermaine Clements and Taika Waititi are comedic geniuses. As of now, I've watched it sober AND drunk. This was the more fun time, hence my recommendation, and also because I got to tell you lot to stop drinking and watching what I do in the shadows. It's creeping me the eff out, yo.

There's possibly a sequel happening. I frickin' loved What We Do In The Shadows, partly because I saw it in a dingy little cinema in San Jose and it was the perfect atmosphere for it.

This is weird. I made a comment on a youtube video of Borderlands 2 stating my theory about the events of Borderlands and I'm not getting constant notifications of people saying that my theory is stupid and I'm stupid. Did youtube break? Did it become a decent place?

Like, it goes against official canon and all (although it is in an attempt to make everything clearer, at least to me)

Official canon as in what's in the game itself or what the creators said? Because if it's the latter, who cares?

Because the creators created the creation? There's plenty of times something can't be put directly into the product, whether it was cancelled, there wasn't time to include it or it was censored.

Word of God. Which moves in opposite direction to what the game establishes in the particular matter I mention.

Honestly, I wouldn't go against Word of God if it didn't clear up the story of all three games to me.

Lately there's always exactly one bug (visible, at least) in my bathroom. The other day there was a spider, which I was sure to spray to death and not squish in case it was carrying eggs. Yesterday, there was a fucking millipede crawling around in my sink which scared the crap out of me when I saw it. And this evening there was a house fly, I was able to coax it out the front door.

I need to find out how they're getting in, the landlord recently installed a new vent fan in the bathroom which may be a suspect.

Definitely suspect. How certain are you your landlord isn't in cahoots with the king of the creepy crawlies? How convinced are you that your landlord isn't, himself, the king of the creepy crawlies? You can't be sure, the goblin king looked remarkably like David Bowie

So my new laptop comes in today. Which means I get to play the fun game of waiting around to sign for the package.

I actually had to get one of my shifts today in order to wait. I can't really complain though because the alternative is for it to be left outside the door of my downtown apartment, a door that probably hundreds of people walk perpendicular to every day. And I could've gotten a computer at the store but the whole reason I ordered online was to buy refurbished, and if I consider the lost wages as part of the cost of the laptop, I'm still saving a lot of money

It's weird as fuck being proud of something you can't actually show anyone you personally know.

I just checked the deviantart page where I post my (potentially, if you're aware of the fetish, but otherwise mostly clean) NSFW stories, and I've officially hit 150,000 page views. I've got individual stories with more than 38,000 views only counting one of the three places I posted it. I've been in contact with a sorta-kinda-semi-professional model in that world who knew/appreciated my stuff.

I have reason to be proud, dammit, but I still would be weirded the eff out if anyone I knew personally made the link between that username and me.

So I got my new laptop. There's a lot more space between keys so that'll take time to learn. I'll also have to import the backup from my old laptop and do the windows 10 update. The update will have to wait for another day because the background download was really slowing everything down, and I have schoolwork to do and a bunch of other stuff I want to get installed on here. But I have a number pad now, which will make playing Sid Meier's Pirates easier if nothing else.

It also needs a name. My old laptop was named Theon

(click to show/hide)

so maybe another Game of Thrones name.

Adult (v.) - when a college student actually takes care of responsibilities that give normally them cognitive dissonance attacks just thinking about them.

Ex. "I was adulting all day today. I paid my rent and filed my taxes."

"I was filling out forms at the bank all morning, adulting is hard."

My gf and I finally put that we were dating on facebook. I think it's interesting that out of the 40 people who've liked that status none of them are my friends. I feel like there's a lesson there.

Saw a girl who posted, "what if he's your Romeo, but you're not his Juliet?" and I really wanted to comment, "then you both get to fucking live next week, that's what".

I just saw Romeo and Juliet on stage, local non-profit theatre. Not terrible. Saw Romeo before he went on stage, assumed he was just a cosplayer who was really into Shakespeare. Then I thought he was the best kind of cosplayer, the kind that stays in character the whole time.

They happened to have an open bar at this show.
