Cats don't quite obey the laws of physics. They take up more room that they should, and have variable mass too.

I hadn't heard the one about variable mass. Any personal experiences you'd like to share?

When cats come over and sit on you, they feel as if they only weigh a few grammes. Then their mass steadily increases until they feel like a bar of lead.

I said "they're just fucking with us" in front of my 5th graders this week. They're city kids. Didn't even phase them.

How.

Really.

How.

I called a 10th grader a dickhead after he crash-tackled another 10th grader into me and lungs were shat. It was even mid-impact startled exclamation.
I once played Cards Against Humanity with some high school kids I was substitute teaching for. I don't remember what words I used, but I'm pretty sure some swear words were inevitable. (shrugs)

I will never call a lego a "minifigure", that just sounds stupid to me. It's a Lego, damn it, regardless of the actual brand. (Same thing with a frisbee, I don't care that it's technically a brand name, as far as I'm concerned, it's been genericized because "flying disc" sounds dumb.)

Not too far from the truth :P

I don't want my real name associated with what I post on here any more - I need an extra layer of deniability.

My employer and exes/former friends have proven themselves to be supremely petty in the past, and much of what is posted on here is public.

There is no greater fear than having to walk up to a library lost and found asking if they have a flash drive full of 95% porn.

Oh, I didn't give anyone else the chance.

I woke up at 6:00. I never do that. I was at the library when it opened.

This flash drive has my name attached to it, and the porn, and a decent chunk of my semi-erotic fiction.

I'm just glad the lady didn't feel a need to verify it was mine. I was running scenarios the whole forty-minute drive

"Can you tell me the names of any files or folders?"

"Umm... I think I have 'Bi-racial BBW bukkakke-blowout'* on there? Parts 1-3?"

*No, that is not a thing that's on the flash drive. I have an affinity for alliteration.

I mean, I didn't name a folder that or anything, but I know me, and I couldn't resist the temptation to make things incredibly awkward. I could name the schoolwork files and folders, but why would I do that when I could make an old lady librarian aware of my personal tastes in pornographic video?

I mean, it's just the name they're looking at, it's not like they'd be opening the file to see if it was what it seemed.

They'd be in one hell of a hurry to let me have my flash drive back, that's for damn sure

Supposedly, my class schedule for all of June is 1:15-6:45, Monday through Wednesday, 1:15-3:45 on Thursday.

Realistically, I was through yesterday by 3:00.

Had the first test today. I left the classroom, totally finished, by 1:30.

Professor asked me later in the hall if the test was too easy.

I like to think I'm an honest person.

I was not an honest person today.

Is there any such thing as too easy?

The test took fifteen minutes. Including my (admittedly spotty) double-checking.

I saw the dude ten minutes after I was finished. Meaning the entire class was finished in less than half an hour, he had had time to walk back to his office, then start his way back to the room, in what should be about 20% of a class period.

Grades-wise, I'm with you.
Education-wise, it ain't rocket science to know that a person walking 2 miles per hour can walk four miles in two.

I'm fine with it because it's gonna get crazy soon enough. Boring shit comes first, and we're literally a week into class.

My class schedule for june is "I have a test tomorrow that'll take 1h, then show some clunky MPI code this monday and do some presentation on the IBM Power775 supercomputer on the 17th that'll be like 10-15 minutes, tops".

And yes this is actual requirements. We've been specifically told to do this.

I kind of love the hardware division of my university. They stopped giving a fuck years ago.

Five minutes ago, I came upon a video in Kotaku containing video gameplay footage of a Bowser level out of Super Mario 64.

AS SOON AS I HEARD THE SOUNDTRACK I WAS SUPER ANXIOUS.

When I was a wee boy, my best friend had a N64 and we'd always play Super Mario on it. I suppose hearing the Bowser level music must have woken up some very latent memories of hardship and excitement.

I am literally crying over this right now. It feels like my brain is making jokes to me. But this fucking song appeared out of nowhere and dropped a tactical emotional outburst on my head.
