I will argue with anyone that Brotherhood of Steel successfully captured several crumbs of Fallout. Mind you they stumbled at pretty much every other step; the game really IS shite. But I'll stand firmly behind bits of it.

To be honest, it's been a long time since I played any Games as you guys do.  I used to play Runescape a lot back in the early 2000's, right up until two or three years ago, but I lost interest in it.

Mostly I've been playing Games on FB

Super City
Diggy's Adventure
Bejewled Blitz
Farmville 2
Bubble Safari

That's about the extent of it these days

As well as living vicariously through The Mighty Jingles on his YouTube Channel.  :-D

I bought Farcry 3 and Castle Crashers on steam, seeing as they were 75% and 90% off respectively. I hope Castle Crashers is as funny as Battleblock Theater, which is the funniest game I ever played (which is also on sale).

I played The Floor Is Jelly.

It went pretty much exactly as you would expect when the floor is jelly, but the final level was the biggest piece of pointless, frustrating bullshit I've ever seen. It's a fun game apart from that.

Alternating Sonic games from the Sega bundle. The Sonic story in Adventure DX is the single most annoying piece of platforming I've ever played. All the game is baby difficulty except for the final boss, which has like 25 different mechanics.

On the other side, levelling up AGES in Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed is an exercise of futility. Superboost AGES only has 2/5 top speed, accel and handling. Like, really Sega. What's the point of making a dude that's only unlockable after finishing the world tour in hard when he's going to be THIS BAD. And to unlock AGES mod for AGES you need to finish the world tour in expert. Although 4/5 speed and 6/5 boost seem pretty nice for the game, but at that point it's basically pointless.
Best car is still speed mod team TF2. And you get to drive as a Pyro, which is nice. A close second is Dreamcast Shadow (5-1-1-5), several different levels of impossible to handle but SO GODDAMN EFFING FAST OH MY GOD. And utterly unbeatable in a Boost Race (no items, extra boost pads) context.

Oh how different it is to the original SASR. Where the OP dudes were Amigo's "maraca" (it looks like a Sriracha bottle to me) and Alex Kidd's bike (which looks like a Kawa ZX4), both severely lacking in the top speed department (in fact, I think Amigo had the lowest). In my opinion, that game was more about the driving and had better level design. But it lacked a bit of "object fairness", and some tracks were pretty knowledge-dependant. While Race of AGES, in Transformed, still is (if you manage to land a 1-2 second difference after lap 1 and evade all hits in lap 2, you can pretty much consider yourself victor), it's just 1 track that's also the final one. I'd say "Sorta like Rainbow Road", but there's a track set in Sonic Colors that's literally Aeropolis - Screw Drive from F-Zero AX on the Rainbow Road roads.

Finished my second EU4 playthrough yesterday.  Played as the Huron.  Westernized, and converted to Catholicism.  The latter might not have been necessary, or advisable, but the French colonies all loved me forever.

In the late game (1780-1820), the French/Huron alliance won wars against:
- England (+ colonies) + commonwealth (poland/lithuania)
- Portugal (+ colonies) + Castille (+ colonies)
- England (+ colonies) + Austria + The Hansa

The closest of the fights on the North America front was the second one, as Castille had some pretty big holdings.  France got them to tap out and cancel alliance with Portugal pretty quickly, I assume because of how well the European war was going.

I'm tempted to play an Asian start next, but I'm not sure which region or which country to start as.  So many to choose from.

Then why don't you rebind it to its own key? You would have to be militantly retro to refuse that option.

I'm playing Hearthstone arena with goblins vs gnomes. Having someone to spectate your arena game and help with decisions is immensely helpful.

I picked up Injustice: Gods Among Us because it was really cheap. I am impress. The graphics are nothing Flash, but the combat system is so addictive. That and they've manage to have characters like Green Arrow able to fight toe-to-toe with Superman whilst still keeping it very true to the DC Universe. (because as awesome as he is, Superman would just flatten him)

I have a lot of niggling issues with that game, honestly.

My favourite (most pathetic) niggle is that when a character takes their final damage to lose a match, they stand up again, only to immediately fall down. Every. Single. Time.

Ha, it's like they made these animations to use for timed matches when the clock runs out and nobody's KOed yet, but the programmers decided it's easier to just code them to always happen!

Also, this reminds me that I still need to at least finish the first volume of the comic linked to the game.

While it's probably a byproduct of lazy coding, as GWF said before me, I like that aspect. They're supposed to be superheroes, they never give up. It's one last stand, in which their legs fail them. Poetic, in a way.
Remember that in story mode, the matches are 1 round. Works with the story.

It's more likely a "oh, this he's-down-animation is supposed to be immediately followed by the he-gets-up animation, but then the game realizes he's dead and just uses the default kill animation" situation.

I'm replaying Skyrim as Finn the Human.  It actually makes the game more interesting to think "hero hero hero hero" instead of "I should do that quest to get that item."  I even made a blog thing for the build.

Yeah, but there's no real sense of engagement or even why the things you're traipsing around to get are important to the plot. I personally found myself being more interested in The Survivalist's story.

I meant 'disregarding' not 'disputing.' It was late.

Anyway, my original run through, we got attacked, and I thought I had fucked up because all the NPCs get killed. Turns out that's scripted. Anyway I'm on hardcore and the White Legs are kinda tough so I was using my sniper rifle (less than 100lbs of stuff on me, remember) to kill anything that moved before it got to me.

Turns out I killed the first NPC, because he was so slow off the mark in 'saving' me from a particular enemy in a scripted event. I accidentally failed every single quest, turned every NPC against me, found the map of Zion in a pack somewhere and left. Then the closing cinematic rolled. And I had no fucking clue what happened.

So yeah. Turns out the real quest wasn't much better but at least had some decent dialogue.

The new Borderlands game is okay.  Most of the characters don't really wow me, but Claptrap is way more awesome than he should be.  Bouncing across the battlefield in a giant inflatable ducky that reflects bullets is my kind of crazy.

That one's too easy for me. Used Athena because I've developed a taste for electrocuting motherfuckers from playing Legendary Catalyst Gaige, and Athena is unkillable. Gaige, on the other hand, has negative survivability. Pretty hardcore fun for level OP8.

Point is, I stopped at 36 still using Miss Moxxi's Vibra-Pulse (level 16) as main gun, and The ZX-1 as secondary gun (that's 28, got it from the raid boss). If a gun can outlive its level like that and still kill everything in sight...

I went to a local video game store before Christmas looking for games to buy for people, and I discovered that their used games section was an absolute treasure trove. I'm currently playing Red Faction: Guerrilla, a game I greatly enjoyed but never finished because it was lost several years ago (along with several other games and a PSP) in a bit of familial drama involving a shithead cousin.

Very few things in gaming can match the raw satisfaction of smashing apart whatever you want with a sledgehammer.

Gave in to the allure of Mount & Blade (specifically Warband, with the Floris mod pack).

Fucking Swadia. Why did I accept their vassalage invitation? Why couldn't I talk goddamned King Harlaus into *not* making me the Marshall? Ah well, at least we're only fighting one war now, instead of three. Fucking Swadia.

Also picked up Far Cry 3 again, since I've been watching Evelyn play 4. Gonna beat it this time, for better and worse.

They are a little clunky, and the game is a little more ragged and holey at times than it has much right to be. (getting Warband, a glorified remake of the original, and hitting up the mod community can help with that mostly).

That said, it comes together surprisingly compellingly, striking out into the wartorn kingdoms of Calradia. The whole 'move your mouse the direction you want to attack/block as you press the button' thing takes time to adjust to, but works.

I've been replaying L.A. Noire and I forgot how much I love this game, even though I'm kind of bad at the interrogations (the faces telegraph whether the suspect is telling the truth or lying, it's a matter of knowing what piece of evidence to use)

Apparently Team Bondi is working on a new game using the same facial capture technology that L.A. Noire uses.

Playing Dragon Age Inquisition (I was really behind in getting it, liking it at the moment).
Also trying Mordheim's early access on Steam at the moment. Because it's an early access game, there isn't a huge amount of content and it's a little clunky in places, but it's definitely fun!

I CALL SHENANIGANS ON THIS BORDERLANDS 2 SETUP I WAS GIFTED BY RNGESUS. I now have on my Legendary Catalyst Gaige a shock Topneaa (which can only be described as full-auto doomsday weapon) and an 88% absorb chance Sham (a shield that absorbs bullets shot at it). Clearing up a whole map takes -32 rockets. And I am not kidding. This is full blown bullshit right here.

Which is kinda funny because I was doing this with a friend that uses Zer0 and he was just watching things get destroyed. We went to a map where there's a boss who also likes rockets for a bit of a showdown and he literally disappeared. The boss I mean.

Just put Far Cry 3 to bed.

Extra fun thought: Some players probably did say 'yeah all that sounds like a good idea.

Fun bonus I had while playing borderlands. I use a sniper in most games, usually just for fun because I am better with a rifle, but damn did it get me good at scouting in CS.

So, I gotta finish Borderlands 2 and Farcry 3, though I lost some interest in F3 once the main villain died.
