An unusual music search
« on: 05 Oct 2014, 22:11 »

So, because of a Shadowrun game I'm joining, I'm looking for the deepest vocals in metal.  Long story short, I'm looking for a song that could believably be belted out at 120 dB by a 600-lbs troll.  So far, nothing sounds quite right.

Longer version:  I'm looking at playing a troll.  Because all characters need something besides combat skills, I'm making my troll a musician, and I decided that vocals would be an interesting choice.  Just telling the group that the troll hopped up on synthetic adrenaline is a singer during the day isn't enough, though.  Unfortunately, I can't find any singers who sound like a troll.  Screamo tends not to be very low in pitch, so I started looking through different metal genres, but I just can't find anything that says "Troll" to me.  Nothing really shakes the windows the right way.  Ideally, I would find a singer who sounds like a war-horn, carved from a mammoth tusk and calling the souls of the fallen to Valhalla, but apparently that isn't a real thing.  I could use a sound editing program to drop everything by an octave, but I'd rather not have to.

The only things coming to mind are older Bolt Thrower, and maybe "Roots"-era Sepultura (especially "Roots Bloody Roots"), though you'd probably have to drop-tune both.
