There was that one, but also the time right after Momo's first paycheck when she confronted Momo about not making any payments toward the chassis.

Sometimes a loan turns into a gift.  Certainly happened to me this year when I tried to pay a friend back for helping me out, and they refused to take the money.

Last Panel Marigold is so relaxed and comfortable with her body language. It's nice to see her not being super anxious or stressed about anything.

you are not the only one. Must have slipped his mind, like when you "attach" and send a file in an email but forget to attach the actual file. Or upload the wrong one. whatever, he'll realize it sooner or later.

Yeah, I tried viewing the file and it opened in GIMP. I saw Marten and Claire talking but there were no speech bubbles.

That's it! I'm quitting the comic forever!

He did post a bunch of links to other comics, don't remember the last time he did that, maybe I'll try, not like I sleep much anyway.

Panel one Claire is all dawww, then panel two is shocked. Panel 3 is the saddest Claire and 4 is her looking at Marten who just delivered the punchline of the day.

Edit-Hey, complete comics up!

Ah. Flustration. Also... uh. Last panel. Marten's comment can come off as cutesy or... uh...  :psyduck: Why do I perceive so much room for it to be taken as condescending? Maybe puckish. Puckish is a good word.

Weird segue, though.  "I accidentally caught some of the library board having sex ALSO YOU'RE PRETTY."

And Claire isn't blushing WHY ISN'T CLAIRE BLUSHING.

And if we get something similar to 2564, but with Claire instead of Marigold, I won't complain either. :-)

Panel 3 is the saddest Claire

Saddest Claire looks like Saddest Faye in Panel 4, which worried me a bit.

She says she's flustered, so I'd take her at her word. Besides, her irises are still visible, which means she probably isn't panicked.

What bothered me about this comic was actually panel 1.  That sliver of the ceiling was just distracting.

So! Marten must be serious about Claire - he's told her the secret of his and Tai's "Get Out of Jail Free" card! Seriously, I'm sure that it's just an amusing anecdote to him. Claire strikes me as the sort who wouldn't need it anyway. Although that might be a new scenario for her mental secret fantasy shipfic folder!

Marten is just as bad at segues as his mother.

Isn't it obvious? She's laughing and he thinks she's pretty when she laughs! He just had to come out and say it! I think the way that he's so into her is cute. Almost as cute as the way that it leaves her totally speechless!

Is it just me, or does that last remark "this date is going really well, don't you think?" seem a tad too self-conscious?
It filled me with apprehension. Pride before a fall, or something.
I hope nothing seriously bad ensues.

Oh dear, now I've noticed that Claire has called marten Handsome. Next thing we know May is going to appear with her fist on fire and brand a chibi-anthroPC scar on Marten's face.

And THEN it will be just like Marten's average first date.

When reading this strip in the morning I thought that Marten may have cursed himself by uttering the sort of oneliner that's said before something terrible happens ("I think this date is going really well", he's just setting himself up for cliché to strike).

...and on looking at Jeph's twitter feed I might be right :( Thanksgiving dramabomb?

Too early.

Prediction: Clinton comes in, and Claire's earlier bravado vanishes like steam from a bathroom mirror. Amid a panic attack, she falls off her chair, headbutts Marten in the junk, and vomits in his lap.

Ah, the classic lapbarfing. Another one of Marten's greatest hits.

Although I'm thinking that it's going to have something to do with the originator of this trend.

Or maybe dilly? Maybe our friendly neighbourhood singing dildo fell down the stairs and is now singing something from *insert sad band here*.

I suspect this year's Thanksgivingdramabomb will involve Faye and Angus...

Or Dora/Sven (especially since Jeph hinted that he had longer-term plans for Sven's character). Neither of those storylines is even close to being wrapped up. Faye and Angus's storyline could probably go either way (die on the vine, or one last big conversation), but it's not like Jeph to leave things hanging, at least where the main cast is involved.
