Shampoooooooooo and other hair care stuff
« on: 16 Nov 2014, 22:33 »

I thought a hair care thread might be fun!

Has anyone had experience using dry shampoo? How did it work for you?

The only "weird" thing I know any of my friends doing was using hemp shampoo. Okay, great idea. Smells like balls.

And I just shave my head (well, use buzzers at the lowest setting, no straight shave), soooo much easier.

Due to heavy amounts of dandruff, I actually use shower gel for my hair. Slightly less damaging than using a pressure cleaner, and with comparable effectiveness.

It's usually a powder that absorbs oil and lets you clean your hair without water. Sometimes it's a spray.

I've tried it with bad results, but I have excessively oily skin and hair. Lush has a wonderful dry shampoo though.

My favorite not dry shampoo is Karma Komba from Lush. It's a solid bar of shampoo that smells amazing.

My girlfriend swears by dry shampoo. She does a wet wash maybe once a week.

Holy crap this is a frickin' revelation... I'm preparing a presentation for the missus who's regularly frustrated by just the kinds of problems dry shampoo and related products are supposed to prevent...!

I use dry shampoo a few times a week, it's so great because it means i don't have to shower more than twice a week now (I wash my other body parts just as well outside of the shower, I'm not dirty). It's great especially in winter since my skin and hair gets super dry if I shower too often, before I started using dry shampoo I had to wash my hair in the shower every other day. Dry shampoo is also great for avoiding static hair if you wear hats! Spray it in your hair and then spray regular hairspray on the inside of the hat and voila.

Since I keep my hair pretty short - Number 2 Buzzcut - I don't use Shampoo, just wash over it with the soap.

I've been thinking about trying dry shampoo. I try to wash my hair every other day, but the grease starts to show in my roots and my bangs at the end of day 1.

Dry shampoo never worked for me and my hair is incredibly picky with which shampoo it likes. My hair is oily and thin. I've tried tons of varieties and the best one for my hair is Pantene's Sheer Volume shampoo- it cleans my hair thoroughly and makes it feel thicker without weighing it down. Plus, it smells delightful.

I've never tried dry shampoo. I like Shiseido's Tsubaki ranges of shampoos and conditioners. I like their skin-care products and make-up too.
