I'm very impressed by Jacob. I don't agree with okaying what Joyce and Ethan did because they were both in heavy denial and suppressing themselves and it could have been very harmful for both of them in the long run. However with this kind of introspection and self-awareness Jacob is showing, a lot of people could make steps to dealing with painful issues and minimise the risk of going into their hard emotional areas. I think Ethan and Joyce were more skirting into avoidance with the illusion of dipping their toe into their issues, Joyce especially. Hearing another person acknowledge sex can be scary must be very validating for her.

I'm curious to learn more about Jacob and what lead him to thinking this much about his relationship with sex. Also how it affects Sarah's view and thoughts of him and herself.

I have to admit that on reading yesterday's comic my first thought was that my reaction in Dorothy's situation would have been "Well, fuck you too." I will never be elected to public office.

Then I realized I have been in that situation and my reaction was to badger the person ignoring me until they snapped.

Unfortunately, it isn't that easy. Dorothy is perfect in his eyes so he has to be perfect too in order to be worthy of her. I'm not sure if this will flatter her or make her feel even more incredibly guilty than she already feels about not being able to help Joyce conquer her demons and not helping Billie feel better!

Pretty sure his major is Telecommunications but I can't find the comic where it's mentioned right now. It's one of the early ones, where he's walking to class with Joyce.

Really? She barely remembers a word of what Leslie's been saying since yesterday! I know that Robin is a bit slow but, if she wants to hang out on Leslie's couch, she's going to have to start listening or she's going to end up being ejected in front of the press corps with Leslie making a comment about 'home invasion' and 'attempted seduction' that would ruin her for good.

So, regarding the 2/7/2017 strip:

Well, that was pretty much inevitable! I'm not going to hold my breath that Robin will learn anything from this. Nonetheless, I can't help but wonder if this is the first time her selfishness has led to public humiliation of this sort and whether this will make her at least wonder what she did wrong.

The news cycle today will be... well... quite frankly it's going to be career-destroying for Robin. Which, frankly, is a good thing because it's clear that the Washington Bubble has been toxic for her on many levels.

What is wrong with that woman?

A complete inability and/or unwillingness to understand anything other than 'I want...' and a complete inability and/or unwillingness to accept any state of affairs other than the one she wants.

I sense an embarrassing (and career-destroying) afternoon in jail for Robin followed by a scripted public statement in which she 'stands aside' for her former campaign manager to fight the seat in her place. Meanwhile, she'll will 'go into seclusion to consider my future' (actually go to her parents' house to sulk in her old room and obsess about ways she can win 'my lesbian's' heart and get her seat back).

Basically, Robin is going to ruin her life and become Leslie's weird and vaguely comical pseudo-Stalker; comical because she utterly fails at being threatening, only tragicomically sad to the point where Leslie starts wondering if she has a responsibility to protect Robin from herself as no-one else seems to care to do so.

The DeSanto family is pretty well off financially aren't they? I seem to remember Roz talking about something like that.. Multi-generational politician line I think, not unlike the Kennedys.  Robin clearly doesn't know how to deal with or interact with people and relies heavily on her aides. She has no real idea what she's doing or why, which leads me to think she got her position basically by being a legacy and a 'safe bet'. Someone the party can trust to vote as she's told. She also seems pretty spoiled and used to getting what she wants just because she wants it... Basically she's acting like a rich 11 year old who doesn't understand personal boundaries or responsibility.

Oh the conflicted Superhero moment.

I hope Danny is helpful here, the last thing we need it Amazi-Girl/Amber going Two Face on us.
