It looks like the wall between Amber and Amazi-Girl is starting to crack.

The dividing line between the two is definitely becoming thinner and thinner.

It's more that Amber wants there to be a dividing line between the two and that it's never been as thick or as clear-cut as she's wanted.

Not really; just poorly-socialised, defensive (to the point where she's afraid of letting anyone get close to her to maybe hurt her) and abrupt. Yeah, she can be rude and selfish but she has her good qualities too. You just need to either make her feel safe enough to show them or be in a situation so immediately demanding of action that she feels no choice but to act on them.

Carla's line in the last panel makes me wonder if she's going to attempt to salvage the Jug Shoes or otherwise improve upon the design.

It's a test run, not an operational deployment; Joyce doesn't want to risk the actual skin of the soles of her feet until she's sure of her creation!

Just a guess: I'm wondering if Carol had an issue about her kids running around barefoot at home; some parents do.

Sorry if I've asked this before, but what does "storyline over" mean? Does it mean he's not going to address anything about this anymore?

He breaks each day of the story into a separate "storyline", and when he publishes the comics in book form there are four "storylines" per book. "Storyline over" just means it's the end of the day, and tomorrow's comic will be tomorrow-in-universe.

The question remains whether Ruth feels ready to leave the Hospital and where she'll go when she does.  I know she has no desire to go back home, that place is toxic, and is partially responsible for creating the Ruthless Ruth we all know and love and led to this mess in the first place.

Will she go back to College?  I'm not sure if she can  What about her and Billie?  Where''s that gonna go?  Ifshee does go back how are the others going to react?  She won't be R.A. anymore, that's a given, and if she's able to, will she want to go back?

Willis has said that the characters' alignment hasn't changed from the Walkyverse and this strip confirms it, IMO.

Personally, I've always assumed that Mike is an aromantic pansexual: Sex to him is a tool and something that he so subborns to his intellect that he couldn't really be said to be a 'preference'; sex doesn't really have an emotional content for him. So long as it furthers his goals, he'll do it.

Poor Joyce. She just got her head wrapped about the concept that being gay isn't a bad thing after all and now the thought of monogamy being the only way to have a relationship is next.

That last comment Ruth makes has me thinking - is she going to stay on and continue at the College or not?

It's good to see Billie is there for her, and Typhoid Mary aside, I have a sneaking suspicion that the others are going to surprise both Ruth and Billie,

I think that Ruth thinks that she's going to be laughed out of the dorm and thrown out by the college for 'abusing' Billie. I suspect that this arc will mostly be about her being surprised by none of these things happening and, in the end, her rejecting the part of her that wants them to happen.

I really don't think Chloe wants to let Ruth go as R.A., but I don't think she has any real choice in this.

On the other hand, Ruth seems more relaxed about things.

Only 'busted' in the sense of 'I haven't seen her before'. Oh, Becky's going to be busted eventually if she doesn't find an alternate place of abode but, just for today, I'm pretty sure that Chloe is going to be too focussed on Ruth to think too much about a new face in the corridors.

My guess:
  • Dina may not be ready for (or even fully understanding of, on an emotional level) sexual intimacy;
  • Becky is definitely not mentally or emotionally ready for sexual intimacy.
Oddly enough, she had no such problem with Joyce. This is probably a testament to how easy it is to confuse interpersonal familiarity with something deeper.

I think it's the first one.

Despite everything's that happened, her problems with her church and openness to learning new things (like Dina teaching about dinosaurs and fossils) Becky still believes in God and identifies as Christian. Nervousness and not bring ready is a big thing but Becky is still influenced by ideas like not having sex before marriage or "living in sin". Although I wonder based on their upbringing what Joyce and Becky think counts as sex between two women.
