These aren't mutually exclusive options.

Another go -> rinse off -> cuddlesnuggletalk -> zzz

Just saying that remembering to take out the lenses might get lost in the mix.

Who puts chicken and waffles together? ... ... Canadians?

As already stated, a Southern US delicacy. I like both, but the combo doesn't quite work for me. Get to the chicken a bit earlier, though ... an egg, sunny side up, or basted or poached, over a waffle is a favorite cold-weather breakfast. And I believe my Texas kin know the delicious combination of sunny-side-up egg atop a couple of pancakes as a "One-eyed short stack."

Which reminds me: Pintsize is probably OK, aside from having eaten all the pancake batter.

Oh yeah: Claire and Marten: D'awwwww. You crazy kids.

Prediction:  By mid week, Jeph will shift focus to other characters for a bit, so that the fans will be held in antici……pation for a while on the whole Clairiten arc.

Why doesn't she just wear her contacts?
I hear people like to fall asleep after sex. One may not necessarily remember to remove contacts first.

It's not necessary to remove contacts when sleeping, as long as you're cleaning or replacing them on a regular schedule.

Alternatively, the sugary-sweet Clairten duo and the Faye-tastrophy interact as a means to create new situations and conversations the comic hasn't had before.

I know *precisely* what's going through Claire's mind right now. (Although if it was truly 1-1 she would be shaking uncontrollably right about now... the rush of having finally, fully realized a lifelong dream'll do that to ya! Especially if you haven't really had a good (or any) experience up to that point...)

The whole arc has kinda reminded me of my life a year ago, and throughout Claire's always been practically a (albeit naturally red-haired) mirror for my own experience. It takes a special kind of author to so perfectly capture a subject so unfamiliar to them - so, bravo, Jeph. Thank you. :)

On the Glasses during sex, they have an annoying propensity of falling of my face so I can get with removing them first.
Alternatively Claire could get the little bead glasses cord. She is angling to be a librarian after all

I hate to say it, but I know about fuck-all about trans* issues, save from what people have posted here, and one friend who transitioned right in front of my eyes.  But I know that especially for those of us prone to anxiety, that one's first *anything* is damned scary.  First kiss.  First lover.  First *real* (as in emotional attachment) partner.  The first time you live with someone else who isn't just someone who isn't family, or isn't just a flatmate.  Firsts are scary.  And in Friday's comic, I could see that in Claire's eyes.  Today's strip really shows them as vulnerable to each other, and demonstrating what happens when one can overcome that fear.

Claire's into some really kinky shit, man, like actually seeing her partner during sex. You're a wild woman, Red.

I only have sex with the lights off, with my boxers on and through a hole in the sheet.

I am tempted to make a reference to sexually repressive cultures, but it's sure to be offensive and in poor taste....
Which is why I will make a reference about your penis chaffing instead.

Finally registered after reading this comic for years. I'm a procrastinator like that.

All just to say this - Sex with glasses is a terrible idea. They fall off, they get in the way, they fog up, etc. If that's kinky, I hereby declare I will never again be kinky. Contacts or go blind!

That's Marten calling something kinky. Given who his mother is, I suspect her was joking. (Or at minimum being ironic.)

Try a rubber catsuit, with a blindfold and a cockring and you will achieve a kinky version of what you just described.
I must admit I am with Pintsize on this: Rule 34 is the proof there is still hope for humanity. The day all the energy and imagination used in war making goes into love-making and sex-having, the world will be saved.

what Marten and Claire just did was make love

Nothing less.

How do you know? Were you in the room? For all we know, there actually could've been a badger, a kiddy pool full of Astroglide, and some Gonzo porn level acrobatics.

I don't know/care what was involved in the process.   It's the result that matters.  That's why it's called "making love".

I only have sex with the lights off, with my boxers on and through a hole in the sheet.

Why stop at the latex suit and blindfold?

Awwwwwww... They are so cute! But why—oh why—would she want to keep her specs on? Don't they get in the way of sexy moments? They are even invasive with simply snuggling! Plus she looks so beautiful without them. Don't get me wrong... I actually love glasses on people, but—dayam—those eyes!

Maybe she has a "being a sexy librarian" trope based fetish. Or maybe she's never had sex with her glasses on because until recently she'd never had sex. So she wants to give it a try.

Remember Rule 34. The reason for that rule is that if you can think of it, there's someone in the world gets off on it. (And if you manage to invent something totally new, the act of sharing will create the fetish.) Sex in glasses might not be for everyone. But the only way for Claire to find out if it's for her is to try.

Then deal with the smudges.

People who love each other can still pork, or bang, or fool around, or bone, or whatever. I don't think either the intent or the obvious meaning of what you're responding to demeaned the act in any way worth getting offended over. I obviously can't speak for you, but to me the term "making love" just seems so formal, almost to the point of being creepy.

They porked.

Really?  Really??

This just... ugh.

OK, they may have had sex, but what Marten and Claire just did was make love

Nothing less.

I was purposefully toning it down. Like if I won the Superbowl and just said, "this is neat". It's understatement.

"Fine, it's okay I GUESSSSSSSS"  :-D

I wasn't commenting on your level of enthusiasm...

As long as the people on either end feel loved it doesn't matter if it's all scented candles and lovely music, or just a quickie.

Just my $.02 worth, mind you.

One girlfriend was in the habit of offering "intercourse", speaking of exceptional formality. The important thing was to oblige her, not to think about terminology.

That was kind of my point.  It doesn't matter what was actually involved.  There's more there than the act(s), and that's what matters!
