C'mon, don't let the fact that it's Jeph's comic and he can decide what to do with it get in the way of the Poe reference.

Yup - End of Evangelion specifically.  It's better if you know the film, naturally, but worth it just for those people!

So one of those "You been friends with X for Y years!" posts came up for me and a friend on Facebook...we've been Facebook friends for 46 years, apparently.  Not only have we been friends longer than Facebook has existed, we've been friends for longer than we've been alive.

I hate Facebook so much sometimes. It keeps doing that 'on this day five years ago!' thing, and it's like 'here's a photo of your ex wife!' Do I really need to scroll through the entirety of my old photographs deleting her to avoid that shit?

Ha, 46 years ago (as of about 3 hours from now) is the dawn of the Unixverse*, so that's just a glitch that a lot of people have been getting.

Ah, Astro Boy - there are good reasons for considering it the origin of anime (starting with the B/W version from 1963, of course).

You all know why 88 miles per hour was the "trigger point" for the Delorean in BTTF, right?

...Deloreans couldn't go faster than that because of the cheap engines they had in them. And 100 mph was right out.
