A few Roos short in the top paddock...
« on: 11 Apr 2015, 19:47 »

A visitor to our back yard departs.
No, Australian cities do not generally have kangaroos hopping down the streets.

Except the capital, Canberra, where that sometimes does happen, yes.

Largest grey kangaroo I've ever seen. I'm 5'6", it was my height. Coralling it out of the back yard - too small for him to get a run up to leap the fence - without either of us getting hurt was tricky.

We have about 11 million of that species. So feel free to come over and pick a few.

When I lived in the countryside about fifteen miles North of where I am now, I remember seeing a Wallaby crossing the road in front of me when driving home late one evening...

I've been harassed by an alpaca in the Peak District which was a bit more scary than being chased by a sheep in Wales. Alas, to my disappointment I've never seen any of the wild boar during my rides through the Forest of Dean.

My cousin did once help herd a Vietnamese Pot Bellied Pig in North Devon after it escaped from a fair.
