Momo Week is a thing! Now what?

More Momo! What do she and May do in the evenings when Dale and Marigold are... busy?
Just what did Marten do with Good Stepmother Snake?
Is Clinton ever going to risk hanging out with Emily again?
Just why is Tai tripping so much recently?
Will Faye and Dora ever be able to talk again?
Does Hannelore enjoy CoD without Faye?

So, we've completed a little side-trip into something that Jeph clearly wanted to do - Look at the life of a machine intelligence in a human world. He could go to a lot of places and do a lot of things with Momo, her desire for acceptance and the difficulty that she clearly has with Marigold's exciting new relationship and May's clear need to have a friend.

A new week is about to begin! Has Jeph got a strip set up in case he's delayed returning from TCAF? Will my usually abysmal attempts to guess what he's going to do next improve? Why don't you tell me rather than me having to do all the thinking around here! :-P

A day in the life of snake. As it goes from the forest to coffee of doom to Veronica's to Marten's to, somehow, Steve's cereal box.

Here's an interesting, in unlikely, thought; What if Tai's tripping more than usual to deal with Dora's growing concerns about the relationship.

Dora "I destroy what I can't control" and Tai "I have no experience with relationships and resent authority and order" might have some more underlying friction than what we've been explicitly told.

Maybe.

Probably not though.

Now that you have said that, I predict that he'll post a YB comic, even though he has a regular one, just to troll the fans.

Well, harrumph. I want to see more Faye, so even though I'd rather not deal with the Faye-Dora shit-heap, I had to vote for that! I'm more expecting something regarding her being unemployed. She's got to work that out some time, and we've gone a few weeks without Faye.

Welp. Yelling bird, no. Shebly, yes. Sigh. I do like Shebly, I really do. I'm afraid if Jeph uses them too often for filler, I'll stop liking them...

I'm not sure if we will see anything about Faye's financial issues. Those sorts of things have never been a big part of the comic. It should probably be addressed at some point, but I expect either her art will take off, or she will quickly find some other source of income to stop the comic from devolving into all to realistic financial stresses.

Well god knows I don't want QC to turn into a strip about how to deal with being broke, but Jeph's gone way too realistic to have a character lose a job and not so much as look for a new one. There's angst to be seen, mark my words.

Well, we don't know what's going on with Faye, aside from the obvious.  It has only been a short time since she has been fired, which means that even if she found opportunities, it might not have been long enough in comic-time for her to even get an interview.

I dunno, we've seen the support group, all of the Emilton date, and Momo got at least a full day. Then there's everything else, I'd guess we've had three, four days in-comic. I agree, she likely doesn't have an interview lined up, but I'd guess she'd have begun the panicked search

Good thing that she's not applying to the University of California.  Even if you get the job, the bureaucracy can mean it takes six month to even get an interview.

Hmmm... Why do I get the impression that being Shelby's human can be stressful, especially when his digestion isn't quite working properly? I think having only had cats who were firmly non-flatulent has spoiled me a little! :-D

Joke Scarf is cute but something tells me that Shelby doesn't know why Daddy wrapped it around him!

Hey, a dog. Hello Shebly. Nice to meet you.

I like dogs. I have a dog myself. Her name is Luna.
Shebly has poofy hair. Luna too.
Shebly is a nice dog. He wants to entertain uns now Jeph is still occupied. That´s very nice of him.

He wants to tell us a joke. A nice joke. Nice dog, niiice.

The pun is terrible. But the thought is nice. As nice as the dog. Niiice dog.
If Luna could make jokes I suppose they would be terrible too. But she is also very nice.

Claire also makes puns.
Claire is very nice. Her hair is poofy too. Her puns are also terrible.
Is Claire a dog too?

No, of cause not. But I like Shebly. And Luna. And I like Claire too.

Nonetheless she should work on her puns. ;-)
The dogs are excused.

A nice day to you all.
As nice as Shebly, Luna and Claire.

My old dog Lucy had a scarf.  It was her "courage scarf", and we put it on her when there were fireworks.  I don't know if it really helped with the fireworks, but it made her feel loved.

We have a rescue cavalier called amber, who's nervous around fireworks. the way she copes is to be on someones lap, and refuse to move until the noises are over.

Just so long as the Comic doesn't go to the Dogs, we'll be fine

I have a feeling the Momo Arc has about another week to run, but I could be wrong.

Eventually, Faye and Dora are going to have to talk to each other, there's no way that they can help running into each other since they move practically in the same circles.  I have a feeling that Faye is eventually going to go see her as part of her therapy.

Momo and the Big Yellow Cutie could get their own spinoff comic. They could become robot detectives fighting crime in AI land, with secret identities to mask their true selves (Momo the mild-mannered Librarian and Cutie the helpful Nanny). Momo could get away with it because Marigold is too oblivious (gaming and Dale sex marathons) to notice. Funny hijinks as Momo  and Cutie invent transparently false stories to cover their absences.

Hipsters always miss the point of kale.  It's cheap (if you get conventionally grown), grows just about anywhere, and it has a nicer texture than collard greens.  No point at all to boiling it.  Steam it or eat it raw.

So, here we see Momo's role with Marigold. Pintsize is basically Marten's lifestyle coach and counsellor. Momo has far more of a health role (as we've seen before). She has taken on the responsibility of ensuing Marigold doesn't die of heart failure before her 40th birthday. It's pretty clear that Marigold doesn't understand this.

I'm not sure if Dale is stirring things because he is a supportive boyfriend or if he enjoys watching the girls bicker!

Meanwhile, I have another entry into the "Marigold the Woman-Child" strips. She often acts and behaves like someone closer to Sam's age! Today's strip is a good example.

Panel 1 has its own fascination. Maybe I stink at reading people but Momo's smile seems genuine to me. She may not want to admit it, even to herself, but she does enjoy spending time with May! I think that they are a strange type of friend.

Panel 1 has its own fascination. Maybe I stink at reading people but Momo's smile seems genuine to me. She may not want to admit it, even to herself, but she does enjoy spending time with May! I think that they are a strange type of friend.
Either that, or Momo is happy to finally get rid of May. I guess Momo regards May's rehabilitation as partly her responsibility. Momo sees herself as an AI ambassador to mankind, and will try to fix AI problems such as May, so that mankind will not become antagonistic to AIs. Besides, because of May's (non-companion) relationship to Dale, and Dale's relationship to Marigold, it inevitably is going to involve Momo as well.

But yes, I can also see a beginning friendship here, provided May does not commit new criminal actions.

Comparing Momo and Pintsize is next to impossible. Momo acts as a friend, matchmaker, health advisor, and now even a cook for her human companion. Pintsize is just a pervert most of the time, doing nothing useful for his human companion. Still, Marten seems OK with that, and is happy having him around (but is reluctant to take him outside their apartment).

I'm not sure if Dale is stirring things because he is a supportive boyfriend or if he enjoys watching the girls bicker!
He's just being a geek.

Meanwhile, I have another entry into the "Marigold the Woman-Child" strips. She often acts and behaves like someone closer to Sam's age! Today's strip is a good example.

Yeah. It's what makes her a realistic character.

A statistically common age of woman-childs.

I dunno, 21 is basically a kid, "woman-child" seems harsh.
