Well, it is possible that we may ony have strips 3016 to 3019 this week, depending on Jeph's situation tomorrow.

I think that this new side to Hannelore is interesting. It would be entirely within Dora's rights to feel angry about her trying to pressure her into fixing her manifold friendship problems. That said, it is arguable that Dora needs help because she gets a bit too comfortable in her defensive position of 'no emotional complications because I'm in charge'. Tai has weakened those walls but, IMO, Dora still needs to put her past to bed, at least as far as Sven is concerned.

What else could happen this week? Well, Marten might follow Faye to work or we might see what Claire's post-Intern life is like. Or maybe we could spend a week with Emily, who has been recruited by a shadowy federal agency called SEMME to develop software for [[CLASSIFIED]]. Which is fine, so long as they promise not to kill her family.

Fun fact: Excluding guest and filler comics, Winslow has appeared eight times between #2000 and now.

I'm actually really, really sad about this.  I love Yelling Bird!  I have the Yelling Bird Squishable!  Yelling Bird, while of course not a good role model in general, is nonetheless my role model for creative insults.
I will miss you, Yelling Bird.  I'll remember you forever and I'll do my best to carry on your filthy legacy in my own life.  <3

I'd have been fine with never seeing a new YB comic, but it feels weird hearing that YB will never show up again. Especially since it's only true until it isn't, so it's kind of a meaningless statement. Eh, filler is filler I guess.

(Dunno why people hate Randy though)

But yeah, Randy's shown up far fewer times than YB and he's far less, well...terrible. (I mean, if you don't count the skulls and the almost certain genocide. Although we don't know what YB does on his day off, so who knows.)

Well now, is that a subtle way to find out where Faye is really at or is it a subtle way to say the Bubbles isn't too happy with her place in the world? I'm left wondering because of the facial expression Bubbles wears in panel  5.

I'm not surprised by Faye. I am by Bubbles. I only wonder at the moment about authors intent.

I agree that there is a big chunk of story with Bubbles that we haven't heard yet. Either she's used to humans pouring moral scorn on the fights and was anticipating the wrong reaction or she has her own issues with it. Either way, she seems genuinely surprised with Faye's reaction. It's possible that in exploring Bubbles' reaction, Faye may find herself ankle-deep in unexpected complications.

I'm not surprised that Faye reacts this way. It seems in character that she'd find violence and causing destruction entertaining. It just seems to be... her.

The audience is interesting. I'm seeing humans and robots there. Obviously this isn't just one side exploiting the other. Corpse Witch has obviously tapped into a genuine market!

That's why they have repairs on site. Repairing the chassis is much cheaper than buying a new one.

Beside's, Momo's chassis was a fancy near-lifelike custom Japanese model. I'm sure the models we see fighting are more like Fords and Chevies than Ferraris.

Heck, what did Momo's chassis cost? $30,000 or something like? These days you can hardly even get a Ford or a Chevy for that little, can you? I know Ferraris are more like $75,000 to $100,000 or more.

Probably closer to Hummers because of all the armour plate and power boosting.

Do robots have "junk", and if so, why?

No, they don't have 'junk', at least those sorts of chassis don't. You've just learned something very disturbing about the level of anger in Faye.

Do robots have "junk", and if so, why?

No, they don't have 'junk', at least those sorts of chassis don't. You've just learned something very disturbing about the level of anger in Faye.

For some reason, my first thought on reading this was that Faye's bot's kill move will involve welding an iron dingaling onto the opponent and targeting that

Why?

Ask Pintsize.
I'm sure he would if he could.

But only one, this time.
