Calling it now, Angus is going to come back after the gig not working out. He's gonna tell Faye he should have chosen her, or something. Faye realizes she only found her passion, way, or what have you, in life because they split up. She will continue to be split up with him. Sad Angus ensues.

Angus somehow ends up with Sven at a bar for comfort (like Sven going to Steve after confessing to Faye). They bond over their pining for Faye. Their friendship grows ever stronger...stronger.

Boom. Sven/Angus sexy times. Champagne hits the bow. The ship sails. Babies are laughing. They end up back in Angus' old room and Marigold and Hanners bond over their guy-on-guy voyeuristic tendencies. Some slapstick shit with Momo having been asleep in the bed at the time. All is well at last. Comic end.

(mod)That is creative. There's a local rule you should know about against putting Jeph's characters into unrealistic sexual situations, though(/).

Did Corpse Witch put on weight? And why do robots need long sleeves? (Particularly since Faye has gone sleeveless?)

I think Faye ought to head down to the same parlor Clinton went to and get some ink for those guns.

Okay, after the new hairstyle poll, we need yet another poll on what montage music needs to be playing over this comic.

Any song other than an 80s smash hit need not apply.

Edit: my vote is for "You're The Best"

Danger Zone is the obvious choice.
"I'm Falling" by the Comsat Angels. from Real Genius

(No, not that other one. That other one is "Number One" by Chaz Jankel. This fits better.)

Maybe she likes the way the top looks. And Faye is not sleeveless in that panel.

I can agree with this, although it doesn't have to be the same shop.

Faye why would you do THAT to yourself?  Was it another accident?  I love her panel 3 hair and it doesn't look all that impractical!

I can get behind "Danger Zone" for the montage music.

What we can all agree on is that Faye has changed a lot physically. Now we're left to wonder if that came with any other type of changes.

And for the record, I'd say that she actually hasn't talked to Dora yet, but what originally was avoidance has over time become both a not very compatible schedule and plainly forgetting to do so.

Both her hair length and clothing seem to reflect the weather getting colder and then warmer again.

As it gets colder, she goes from a sleeveless top to a flannel shirt to a shirt with a sweatshirt over it, while the hair gets longer. As it starts to warm up again, the sleeves comes off the sweatshirt and the hair gets shorter. So it looks like we start in early fall, go through winter, and come out in spring.

Personally, I think that Faye's new look comes from her internalising the macho atmosphere and culture of the URFL (Underground Robot Fighting League). Basically, if the fighters were human, she'd be suffering from testosterone poisoning!

I love this quick leaf-through Faye snapshots! And I love Faye going all Rammstein, it totally makes sense in that job! I really love the art in this one; compare Faye's right arm in the first and last panel, there's months hard work toning!

As for the drawn dicks; I think they are not that easy to erase, this is no environment for a felt marker. Here we draw with stick welding slag! Glass-arm will need an angle grinder to get rid of those...

Faye will gladly provide the grinder work once glass-arm learns not to punch things when he's recovering. Probably.

I find panels 2 and 5 particularly interesting. These aren't fight-related injuries; the robots are coming to her for other maladies too! Additionally, panels 1 and 6 show that's she's becoming more skilled with complex stuff like fixing synthetic pseudo-musculature. She isn't just the bodywork gal anymore, she's becoming 'Dr Faye - Robo-Medicine Woman'!

Dang it. I liked Faye with longer hair.

I was more for something along the lines of GNR's Welcome to the Jungle but then Electric Avenue came to mind...

But then I remembered that Faye's a southern gall.  So, Flirting With Disaster by Molly Hatchett should do the trick.

I read panel 2 as being the result of a fight the robot didn't want to talk about. "He fell down the stairs" is a traditional euphemism for "We beat him up", much as "I walked into a door" translates to "someone hit me but I don't want to bring charges". I definitely endorse the idea of Faye running a robo-clinic though.

Panel 4 hair is most flattering IMHO, but Panel 5 is "Mum hair", and perhaps Panel 6 hair was a reaction to Faye realising it.

Faye's montage music... "Cathedral" by Mechanical Moth.

It's funny how hard Faye is on Glass-Arm, considering their shared love of punching things.

Also, panel 4 Corpse Witch is easily explained. That one would be in the dead of a Massachusetts winter and she's not designed for those temperatures. So she needs to wear something to stay warm.

Corpsewitch and her outfit... She likes it? Some robots wear clothing to fit in better, or avoid problems because their chassis are close enough to human looking to cause trouble if they ran around naked. But plenty of other humanoid chassis robots skip the clothes with no problems. Also, everyone's talking about Faye's hair.. but she's also got new glasses in panel 5 and 6. I like them better than the rectangle frames, I think it makes her face look a bit softer. She's also seemed to have developed affection and concern for the bots in her charge. Even if sometimes that affection is expressed by drawing dicks on their heads. At least it's not welding on a new dong-i-corn...

Ugh, the return of the horrible undercut style. Panels four and five are so adorable, and suit Faye SO WELL.

EDIT: Now that I'm thinking about it, I think it says more about Jeph than anything else that he seems incapable of having his female characters remain long-haired for long, or free of any tattoos and piercings. Emily's hair went kaput, Claire's suddenly all pierced up and "punky", shit, it's not even just the females; Clinton's got ink and a buzzed 'do now. Tai's gone from short-haired and slightly boyish to somehow buxom with that same kind of hairstyle, and now the only one really left is Marigold. Hopefully Emily or Dora keep their longer hair for at least a little while before they likewise get decimated.

Then again, maybe this is an issue of perspective; none of my friends have multitudes of tattoos, undercut hair, gauges or other piercings. A small/medium tattoo here or there, simple lobe piercing on a couple, that sort of thing. Maybe this is normal elsewhere, but it just seems strange to me.

1. People who are similar to each other in tastes and styles tend to hang out together.
2. People tend to be influenced by their friends.
3. People in their twenties are especially susceptible to the above two.
4. People in their twenties are especially likely to change, add, subtract, cut, grow, pierce, ink more frequently.

"What it says about Jeph ..." Well, absent credentials in brain-squeezin', I'd guess it says he finds long, loose hairstyles a pain to draw. I find them so, anyway.

And my female friends, for the most part (and representing a wide range of adult ages) find it impractical. They're either having it cut short (and occasionally donating it) or tying it back or otherwise preventing it from flopping about.

Their hair gets in their hair, is what I'm sayin'.

Not sure what the latter two of your points say about my friends and I, since none of us is under twenty two or over twenty six. We're all smack bang in the mids, so to speak. I guess we're just boring by modern standards.

It probably depends on location, too. Body modification is not common where I am now, and I had to dig around to find a decent piercing place with any selection of jewelry. Whereas before, there was a tattoo/piercing parlour in every mall. And the hairdressers are always nervous when I go in for a haircut, because women don't tend to have short hair here unless they are going for an androgynous look.

So maybe not boring, just more fashion conservative.

In Sydney, and probably other large cities, it goes by neighbourhood. Body mods beyond "conventional" ear-piercing, and their associated insfrastructure, are pretty routine in some districts, while in others, only a few kilometres away, you see mods much less often, and there's not a tattoo parlour to be seen. The same tends to apply to hairstyles that are more... cutting edge.

Possible spoiler from Jeph's Twitter feed!
I was a bit surprised to find that I couldn't find a special term for the relationship Jeph was discussing, even in the insanely complex system of Chinese relationship titles.

Panel 5 is the industrial machine tool AI. (Weighs two tons, bolted to the floor. Dr Faye makes house calls.)

And the time lapse says that Faye has kept her act together for a good while. Way to go, gal!

I like Faye's look in the last panel! I'll miss the rectangular glasses, though.

Interesting that I didn't notice the glasses from 4 to 5, since the hair is pretty much the same. They look good with her panel 5 hair (which is pretty much panel 4 but a little longer, right?) but...just no to that panel 6 hair.

I was gonna go with "Time" by Hootie and the Blowfish for the montage, but that's just me.
