Well, we've seen that AntrhoPCs can have farting as a feature. Does that mean that everyone who farts is a robot? It would explain some of my colleagues, I guess...

Seriously, I'm expecting a degree of angst on Faye's part when Dora tells her this 'cute story'. Faye really, really is unlikely to think that she is a good role model for Sam and might feel a bit bad about it.

But she used to -- http://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=2178

That was before she nearly drank herself to death and came close to destroying her friendship with Dora. Now, she may have grave reservations about whether Sam is safe around her.

She just isn't pronouncing it properly
Wait, what? I know how to spell medieval, but I've never heard it not pronounced "mid-evil". I get spelling it like that, to show that it's what she thinks the word is, but how is it being pronounced wrong?

Going to the huge effort of making a chassis indistinguishable from human, then leaving in a vibrating butt, would be a bit odd.

But I wonder if there are such things - isn't that the reason Hanalore took a sapble of Marten's blood?

One too many "ee"s there.
Or possibly too few. Med-ee-eee-val gives the feel of them both being long ee, but one being longer than the other. Mind you it probably depends on where in Britain you come from anyway. So many vowel sounds, so few letters...

She's a sword wielding junior highschooler known as the Skullmaster. She's the fixer for an illegal underground robot fighting ring.

Together, they commit crimes.
Involving marshmallows and confectionery in the pursuit of freedom for "Biteys" everywhere.

As opposed to Polish where there is a derth of vowels.

The Australian sides with "Med-ee-eee-val" for those interested in the debate.

We also pronounce "Tomato" as "Tomahto" like in the song which is meant to be a joke about how literally nobody pronounces it that way if you're American.

"Fixer" means something very different in the context of illegal or dubiously legal sports organizations.

And could technically still be accurate. Though we've never seen any indication that the fights are rigged. I'm not sure that Punchbot would really understand the concept anyway. He seems to be very child-like in his mindset, so I am not sure I would trust him to take a fall during  a fight or understand why he shouldn't be talking about it to people.

Hawai'i has a surplus of vowels, so maybe they could be shipped to the deprived Poles and to the desperate citizens of Brcko.

It wouldn't even be hard. It's easy to arrange a vowel movement.

Yeah, and good for Faye for realizing BAD IDEA.  But maybe this could lead to Faye moving back into CoD not as a barista but setting back up in the old workspace?  Faye could art back there and have somewhere to teach Sam and be around her friends.

Good answer by Faye, but I'm almost certain that Sam is going to take it as "Faye doesn't want to see me anymore, ever, under any circumstances."

Oddly enough, the only really pressing question in my mind was this: What was Corpse Witch doing in panel 8? Does she make fighters out of the smashed remains of decommissioned AIs (hence her name)? Is she illegally modifying a brain drive to increase aggression? Or is that just a AI pressure cooker that she's fixing for a friend?

"Hey kid, we can still catch up, just not at my place of work" seems like the obvious call here.

Obvious, perhaps, but far less audience-pleasing.

I have a feeling that Sam, being a teenager, is likely to do something silly or draw wrong conclusions. I have no doubt that Faye will need to spend some time assuring Sam that she still wants them to be friends and isn't avoiding her because she's a "silly kid" or something similar.

Nah.... this is absolutely going to happen in the worst way possible.  I mean, this a girl who captures snakes.  When someone tells her NO... she doesn't ask WHY, she goes full on Cave Johnson.

Faye is not the responsible party here, although she would like to be.

I'd have to agree with Corpsewitch on this one. In addition to the safety hazards, I think it is physically impossible for a kid like Sam to keep quiet about going to an UNDERGROUND ROBOT FIGHTING ARENA.

To me it looks like she's extracting the person's brain to harden it so that that robot can fight.  In other words, I think we have a new recruit.

I suspect that more people would be interested in a 'hilarity ensues' scenario where Sam inadvertently causes trouble for Faye with Corpse Witch. This would be most likely to lead to further progress both in Bubbles' story arc and maybe further explores the effects Faye's presence will have on the Fighting Arena.

As for Sam? I still have this odd feeling that Punchbot and the other fighters will all sort of 'adopt' her as their cute little human mascot for reasons best left a mystery. She's got the sort of personality that would enable her to communicate with them on their own level, I think.

I suspect Sam shall seek Faye out. Uncover the fight club, and just generally be Sam.

This is a huge leap, but maybe those 'lets play' microphones will be used instead to commentate on robo-fighting. That would make one HELL of a more original/interesting Youtube/Twitch channel: video of live gear-grinding gladiators with a hyperactive teenage host.

If Sam does seek Faye out, and finds her at her workplace, Faye will have a tough time convincing Corpse Witch not to fire her on the spot. Or into the sun for that matter. If Sam finds Faye at work, Faye will most likely end up out of work. Again.

I agree with StClair, Sam's more likely to take it as Faye not wanting to see her anymore. Faye's going to have to seek her out and convince her otherwise.

As comicalArchitect noted, it was an Old Fashioned.

However, if she were to apologize to him via a Manhattan, she would have to give him Manhattan. And Manhattan is very expensive...

If Sam does seek Faye out, and finds her at her workplace, Faye will have a tough time convincing Corpse Witch not to fire her on the spot.

I was about argue it's stupid to fire an employee because they were stalked, but then I remembered this is, at its base, a criminal operation. Stalking often equals police.

Given that Jeph writes her name in all caps, I think it's an acronym.

Corpse Witch? I found the first strip she appeared in (I think), but I can't find any where she's actually named (because I'm too lazy).
