I grew up watching and rewatching an old VHS of Acorn Antiques. Still one of my favourite shows. She was genuinely funny and mostly harmless which is an extremely difficult trick in comedy. She's also one of precious few comediennes who I think succeeded on their own terms and whose career doesn't need the qualifier of 'female' attached to it, which is as much an indictment of the industry as it is a compliment to her.
