Technically, "cheese omelette" is "omelette au fromage" ("omelette du fromage" would mean "omelette from/of cheese" and is incorrect). The phrase in Dexter's Laboratory is wrong.

But on the bright side, if someone says "omelette du fromage", you instantly know what they are referencing

Or, rather, who said the issue was losing the information content of the note rather than the note itself?

It's just as possible that Brün's apparent disappointment when the note dissolved was due to losing the tangible evidence that someone not-Renee wanted to communicate with her and/or that she was disappointed with herself for not realising earlier that the note would dissolve in the shower.
