Thankfully Pintsize didn't go out and buy a big truck.

Granted, he'd have likely totaled it and/or had in impounded in less than a week.

Has Pintsize moved beyond his buttock obsession?

Pintsize has generally been written for laughs. But there does seem to be a therapeutic aim to at least some of his shenanigans. Perhaps there's a more serious side to him.

I got the impression he was actually trying to make a point also.

Bubbles has learned an important survival lesson about the apartment today: When Pintsize does something weird (which is more often than not), don't mention it and certainly don't try to engage with him. Just shake your head and walk away. Seriously, your day will be better for it.

Now... Is Pintsize... jealous here? Is Jeph drawing a parallel with yesterday's strip? Or is this another one of those times when Pintsize uses his random behaviour to try to help someone? After all, it is arguable that Bubbles is overcompensating but there's no-way to tell her this without offending her. If, instead, you mention it whilst doing something weird, it gets into her brain without having to say it in the context you intended!

Yes, I'm a believer in Pintsize being a hidden psychological genius as well as being serious about his contract duty to help his apartment-mates.

I'm wondering if this is a lead up to Bubbles shedding the armour...

I dunno how I feel about that!

Definitely rounder, I think. Combined with yesterday's Tai, I think there's another art-style change a-coming.

Is Pintsize encouraging Bubbles to think outside the box?

Outside of her box (armour) certainly.

It's an interesting way of doing it on Pintsize's part. He's using self-mockery here - making himself look stupid to make Bubbles think seriously about whether she is clinging to a psychological security blanket that is only harming her self-image and making her seem more threatening (something she fears). She'd never listen if he had broached the subject directly but this way? This way will at least leave the thought in her mind for her to consider at a later date.

Bubbles mentioned that the Pintsize units were originally built for military purposes maybe the cardboard armor is an approximation of what they looked like in combat mode.

What strikes me as the more important question is this: Since it's now a bit messed up, how does Bubbles style her hair?  Do they make robo-hair-product? Does she have to wash it?  :psyduck:

Uhmh - I read it completely different from the "intervention"-type of scene you lay out (Mostly because 'subtle' isn't in Pintsize's vocabulary).

I read it as Pintsize, inhabiting a de-mobbed military chassis, being plagued by  ... 'chassis-envy'. Complete with Trump-style denial & deflection.

Poor mite ...

Can't answer those direct questions, but I have noticed that Bubbles' hair has been a decent reflection of her emotional state. At the beginning, it was a straight flat helmet (reflecting her initial very guarded attitude). After the party debacle and the subsequent rapprochement with Faye, Bubbles hair showed a bit of variation at the edges. Eventually as Bubbles opened up to Faye, the hair became a softer organic shape. Now that Bubbles is at loose ends and hanging with Pintsize, her hair is downright bedraggled, at least by Bubbles standards.

Possibly her 'hair' is in fact fiber optic material and serves both as decoration AND a sophisticated sensor net.  :-P

I know that Brun really and genuinely is trying to help here but something tells me that her advice wasn't exactly something Renee will find useful when it's pretty clear that she just wants a hug.

However, I do think that Brun is all hugged out at the moment. All her spare affection has already been given to that darn clock! I mean, I know it is probably the most valuable thing that she arguably owns at the moment but something tells me that it is even more valuable than that to her!

In Brun's defence, she has only just woken up so I doubt that she's bringing her A-game to this conversation.

While Brun's advice is funny here, in essence it is of course similar to 'don't worry so much about it', a brilliant piece of advice I have been given on numerous occasions. Yep, Ted-talk worthy insight.

Good to see Renee realising what she did.

Also, when is Pintsize finally getting a body upgrade? I bet he has saved money all this time for a super deluxe model...which then turns out to b the most attractive male in the QC cast.

That should be the first question for the next White House press conference:

"Mr. Spicer - Has the President considered NOT making terrible decisions?"

(The second question, of course, should be: "Mr. Spicer - Have you noticed that your nose appears to be growing?")

Certainly not what I'm used to seeing..

I think that I might report that advert to Jeph for being sexist and racist.
What is the best way to do that? Or should I just bombard him on all platforms?

Probably a good idea to include the screenshot of the ad too. I'm sure he'll appreciate it - he tends to take action pretty quickly on inappropriate ads.

I had an old LED clock that stopped. It was blank all the time. Maybe it was Schrodinger's clock. Maybe it wasn't.
