QC: The Movie
« on: 21 Jun 2017, 19:13 »

Share your ideas for a QC movie! Here's how I see it:

Hannelore has been invited up to Station, and she asks to bring along her friends again. This ends up being Marten, Faye, Dora, Sven, Marigold, and Pintsize, who sneaks on in place of Winslow. When they get up there, Beatrice appears and reveals that she has taken over Station and is using him to spread a virus that corrupts AIs into violent zombie-types. The virus spreads from AI to AI through proximity, and is launched in Northampton. Beatrice reveals that she also has a biological virus, and is planning to test it out on Hannelore to turn her into her evil partner. Hannelore and friends have to find a way to disable the virus and win Station back, while the other characters fight the zombie AIs down on the ground. Other moments that would be included:
  • Clinton and Claire, through a combination of research skills and AI knowledge, discover a cure for the virus. They upload it onto Momo, who becomes the living antidote.
  • Marten and Pintsize reevaluate their relationship, with Marten being mad at Pintsize for sneaking on and Pintsize being mad at Marten for not bringing him along. They argue a lot but eventually come to the conclusion that they need one another.
  • Veronica wears a full-on gimp suit and fights zombie AIs with a whip.
  • Brun busts out the harpoon.
  • Sam gets to apply her mid-evil swordfighting lessons.
  • Penelope uses the Malaysian Battle Spatula and lops someone's hand off.
  • Elliot throws someone through a plate-glass window.
  • Sven seduces Beatrice as a distraction.
  • Marigold and Faye win Station back, using Faye's welding skills to access his core drive and Marigold's programming skills to reprogram him.
  • Dora takes charge of Team Station and realizes that she's a natural leader.
  • Pizza Girl saves the day somehow.
  • The Roombas sacrifice themselves by flying into zombie AIs.
  • Hanners has to crawl through Station's septic tank.
  • Bubbles organizes an impromptu militia.
  • Steve acts as a government representative trying to argue against nuking Northampton, while Vespavenger takes the opposite position.

This movie would be animated, with JG Quintel as Marten, Kristen Wiig as Hannelore, and Kristen Schaal as Marigold. No idea about other casting. Comment on my idea, or tell us how you would turn QC into a movie!

Here is a fan-created movie poster dating from the mid early era (when the Marten-Steve friendship was still a significant thing in the strip and we had Raven instead of Emily as the resident cloud-cuckoolander).

That poster is really neat!
I can't really see that guy as Marten, though. Maybe someone who plays the usual Michael Cera awkward/wimp guy, except absolutely NOT Michael Cera.

It would be cool to see something like that for the current era of the comic.

I absolutely do NOT want Jesse Eisenberg as Marten.

My first reaction was "Not Winona as Dora!" - and now I've outed myself as old, haven't I?

Nope - not old at all ...... ancient maybe but not old.  :-D

A good pun is it's own reword.
There is a difference between spare parts, extra parts and left over parts.

The Venn diagram  for Common Sense and Good Sense has very little, if any, overlap.

How about Teresa Lee (one of the Cracked.com producers) for Emily Azuma?

She seems like she'd have a blast.

I can easily see those 3 in the first video as Angus, Emily and Marigold
