Momo and May tell Faye the story of Charlie and Calcula, the first human and AI to marry
Steve and Cosette are marched into a wedding planner's office by Tortura
Padma comes to Northampton to persuade Renee to be her matron of honour
Marten and Claire TRY to have a date night; complications ensue due to their friends' chaotic lives

The hell? Even when I go to the actual picture link I get the third party hosting thing.
Yeah, photobucket have recently changed their terms and conditions to essentially hold accounts to ransom, if users want to embed their images on third party websites. I think its about $400 a year.

My reason for ticking "Other":

I suspect the rest of the week will deal with Faye and Bubbles handling the more bizarre aspects of their new business.

And yes, I believe it can get more bizarre than giant metal penises and robot butt replacement   :-D

Today, Bubbles has learned something important. Today she learned that modern perfumers can make scented candles that quite literally smell like anything. She's really going to have to ask Momo and May where they got those things!

I also see that Faye is having some technical problems and subscribes to Practical Engineering Rule #1 - "If it doesn't work, hit it until it does."

P.S.
Am I the only one who notices that Faye has dropped her 'butch' aesthetic in the past few strips and gone back to her old look? I'm wondering if she was semi-deliberately mimicking the 'edgy' atmosphere of the fighting arena and trying subconsciously to blend in to what she perceived to be the dominant culture. Bottom line, she's stopped faking being an edgy member of the criminal underworld!

I stopped using Photobucket ages ago, because they kept "losing" my images.

I guess the "abandoned quarry" scented candle might have been intended for Faye.

Am I the only one who notices that Faye has dropped her 'butch' aesthetic in the past few strips and gone back to her old look?
No, and I'm not altogether sorry, but she must have very fast-growing hair.

See Percussive Maintenance.

BTW, relevant to the Photobucket thing, I have had much experience excerpting images that do not wish to be excerpted.  The first workaround that defeats most unembeddable images is to save the image locally, then upload it to wherever you wish it to appear.  If you use a descriptive name and put it in an appropriate folder, you've got it for the next time you want to "quote" that image.  Now, this assumes that you are able to save the image in the first place--for images that resist saving, you right click,  choose "Inspect Element", and hunt around for something that looks like an image URL.

Today's comic reminds me of the episode of Bones in which Angela plays a sound effect of a raisin falling into milk (from a vast database of sound effects), and Mr. Nigel-Murray appears through the door asking, "Did someone just drop a raisin into milk?" :')

Yeah, pretty sure that's a sign she changed her meds. New hair, new meds. And pretty powerful ones at that from the looks of it.

Or character development.

I hope its the latter.

For me, it's less that she did, and more *how* she did.  Then again, Faye and IIRC Tai have had similar styles, so I suspect that it's largely author appeal.

Really hope some news channel doesn't see the post-comic text and decide to run that as another non-news story.

Still though, if they did, it'd be better than CNN threatening to doxx the guy who made that Trump wrestling meme (which violates federal and state law).

Well, at least we know what happened to Faye's hair, she gave the style to Hannelore! Wait... is that even possible? More importantly, is is possible that Cosette's comedic catastrophic clumsiness is catching? If so, how do we treat Emily?

Hannelore, welcome to working life. Sometimes, no matter how deeply ingrained certain habits become, fatigue and exhaustion will start to win out in the end. That said, this is Hannelore we're talking about; we should expect an extreme reaction or an equally extreme 'go with it and run' response.

I hate Hanners' new hair.

I'm not a fan either. That said, I think it's plausible in character terms. It's almost identical to Faye's old 'do, which makes me think it's an imprinting thing. Faye had one; Faye is a confident, strong personality; Hannelore wants to be confident and strong; ergo she starts imitating Faye's aesthetic (even if only on a subconscious level).

Aw, another long hair chop. :( I liked Hanners' longer hair and it's also disappointing this is a hairstyle other characters have had. Ah well.

My jaw actually dropped reading that's today's strip. I don't think "congratulations" are appropriate but it's weirdly one of the biggest character development jumps I've seen in anything in a while and I'm glad she has friends nearby to help process it.

The question now is, did she shower before coming down?

She seems to be wearing the same clothes, so she either didn't change, showered and put the dirty clothes back on, or has multiple identical outfits. I think I'd rule out the second, but either of the others is believable.

She seems to be wearing the same clothes, so she either didn't change, showered and put the dirty clothes back on, or has multiple identical outfits. I think I'd rule out the second, but either of the others is believable.

I think Hannelore is exactly the sort of person who might have multiple identical outfits, like Jeff Goldblum's character in The Fly.  It simplifies so many things.

How many geeks have had the epiphany that if you buy the exact same sock in bulk and get rid of the rest, you never have to match up socks again?

I kinda think Garbaldo is hot...
With those terrible sideburns?

Does Hanners carry a paper bag around, just in case?

Fun real world facts!
  • Bleminda is Sam Maggs (https://sammaggs.com/).  She writes graphic novels, but she also writes for Bioware, which is why she's wearing an N7 hoodie.
  • I have no idea who Garbaldo is, but my hunch is he's not Sam's IRL bf; it's more likely Jeph is goofing with them.
  • And Jeph just explained Hannelore's hair: "I’m glad everyone likes Hanners’ haircut, it was inspired by me thinking “I bet @LuBellWoo’s hair would be fun to draw.”"  That would be Lucy Bellwood (https://lucybellwood.com/), who just published a graphic novel about anxiety.

Just Hannelore. Claire has the same haircut, just put up in a bun.

Maybe Claire just got back from Librarian Boot Camp?
Don't you mean librarian book camp?

When it comes to the hair, I did notice that the Patreon crowd is more happy about it than here (and Jeph actually reads the stuff there).

Jeph probably feels more need to please the paying customers than the forum that he has previously described as somewhat creepy.
