Went outside during lunch and watched it through my welding helmet. I tried taking a picture of it through the helmet, but all I got was a blurred greenish spot of light because my phone kept focusing on the helmet lens.

A "buttload" is an actual measurement, next time someone tells you that they need a buttload of something, tell them 126 gallons might be a bit too much.

Went outside and looked at it through someone's glasses that they were nice enough to share. It was pretty cool, even if it was only partial up in Jersey.

Drove to St. Louis with a friend the day before, stayed there overnight, and then drove to Chester, IL. Original plan was to head west into Missouri, but the weather was looking bad. The clouds were a little threatening, (while not blocking the sun), until about 15 minutes before totality, when the clouds all disappeared. About 15 minutes after totality, though, the clouds came back and it started storming. Some pictures I got (first one's from a digital camera my mom gave me as a Christmas present about 10 years ago, the other are from my phone).

And a (slightly mangled by Twitter) panorama of the area where we watched the eclipse (a church parking lot just outside of town):

And the guy I went to the eclipse with had a much nicer camera, and he got this picture (which looks much nicer in a form not mangled by Facebook):
